  1. Hi everyone! A bit of a family emergency is going on right now (my dad isn’t doing too well, he’s on his way to the hospital as I type this), which may explain my lack of inactivity on Totallympics and updating all of the various sporting events If anyone wants to post any of them that’ll be appreciated, and if not then I’ll post them when I’m fully back! Actually, it might even be within a few days. I’ve just thought about it, and when I’m not busy visiting him at the hospital, I might choose to watch/share results of some sports. Bit of a confusing response I know, but to explain my thought process, watching (along with playing, but irrelevant point) sports and sharing results on Totallympics are two of my favourite things to do. Trying to not worry too much when personal problems is hard for me, and it might be what I need to not freak out and have mental breakdowns every couple of minutes. But we’ll see.

  19. Gracenote predictions are usually good but they do have some weaknesses. They underestimate good performances by sportspeople breaking through to top level competition at a young age and, where certain parts of the world have a big advantage over other continents, they rely too much on older global results over newer continental results

  20. Gold Medalists: Harrie Lavreysen - Track Cycling Individual Sprint Harrie Lavreysen - Track Cycling Keirin Track Cycling Men's Team Sprint (For me Australia is the favorite with their extra rider and better start) Track Cycling Men's Madison (Havik and Van Schip only won once accidentally during the Worlds, but with the Dutch are outsider) Femke Bol - 400m Hurdles (I truly not believe she's capable to beat Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, how much I wish her to do) Mathieu van der Poel - Cycling Road Race (Well, he is one of the riders to watch, but so many can win this) Sharon van Rouwendaal - Marathon Swimming (She won last Worlds because the already qualified swimmers didn't take part seriously in the 10km) Men's Field Hockey (They have a chance, but for me and are bigger favourites) Women's field Hockey Tes Schouten - Swimming 200m Breaststroke Did Gracenote ever heard of Tatjana Schoenmaker and Kate Douglass? No. van de Werken/Lambriex - Sailing 49er Duetz/van Aanholt - 49er FX Luuc van Opzeeland - Sailing iQFOiL (Strange format in the final) Rowing - Men's Double Sculls Rowing - Women's Four( is the big boat in this class) Rowing - Women's Pair( and weren't at their best at last year's WCh, but normally those two countries fighting for gold) Rowing - Men's quadruple Sculls Rowing - Women's Single Sculls I predict a maximum of 11 golds for us. That still would be an amazing result for our little country. Would be very happy with that. Gracenote predicts only 5 silver, I predict a lot more silver!

  30. Disappointing week for Greece in Europe Group I, finished second in our group (beat Sweden 2-1 and Norway 3-0 but lost 2-1 to Serbia where Sakkari only played doubles...), then advanced to the next group where we needed to beat Latvia and Denmark to get promoted. Got the job done 3-0 against Latvia (Ostapenko only played doubles), and then lost 2-1 to Denmark (without Wozniacki). Pretty disappointing in the end. Tauson played an incredible match to beat Sakkari, and Grammatikopoulou lost to Svendsen who is ranked in the 500s. I am not sure why Papamichail didn't play in such an important match instead of Grammatikopoulou who was mediocre all week, and also Papamichail is more stable but congrats to the Danish girls for pulling off big upsets in both singles matches @Wumo@Agger

  32. This is how ATTU determines its 6th singles quota is it really necessary? the best Asian player in the ranking will qualify through the World Ranking quotas anyway. btw it seems ITTF can never find the best possible format for the qualifiers. I hope they learn one day that they have to award the ranking quotas before the continental qualifiers. I totally understand they have problems with mixed doubles quotas, still they could find a way to deal with it.
