  1. Here are my personal votes with remarks attached - 12 (I’m a sucker for folk bops. Also, I love the blending of styles and languages. It felt very natural. Overall, visually, lyrically, and audibly, this offered everything I want in a song @Illya) - 11 (Vocals and video were on point. It wasn’t the catchiest song, but it was very original. It left me intrigued @NikolaB) - 10 (I’m really sad this didn’t do better. We don’t see many humor entries in TISC, so this was a very fun song to discover. Visuals were low budget, but lyrics were priceless. I think some more engaging vocals could have seen this snag my top rank @Dnl) - 9 (I was actually a little torn on where to rank this. It ultimately ended up higher since I enjoyed listening to it while driving. I like the vocal, and there were some nice touches in the final production. Who doesn’t like some teenage angst? @ManuCHIL) - 8 (Again, another song I would have liked to see do better. I appreciate the risk taken with this entry. He had a unique sound and I loved the live performance @Vic Liu) - 7 (Multiple folk styles with some fun lyrics? Sign me up. I need something a little engaging with the vocals and arrangement to rank this higher @mrv86) - 6 (Well, I liked this one. I the folk element was nice and the video was engaging. I didn’t hurt that I enjoyed listening to the audio only version of the song. It fell victim, like many of the following songs, to being a little too similar in sound and vibe @Werloc) - 5 (I originally had this one ranked higher, but I need some stronger lyrics. I liked the Greek/English combination. It flowed well. A nice summer song @Yannakis @maestro @Makedonas) - 4 (Will there a more memorable beat drop in TISC history? I liked the song, but again, I needed a little more originality [lyrically and visually]. Still, happy to contribute to the meme @Cobi) - 3 (This isn’t something I would normally listen to, but it really stuck out to me. Original lyrics, nice visual, and an acceptable vocal performance. I’m sure you’ll get points from us one day @hckošice) - 2 (This one grew on me. Nice vocal and visual with some interesting enough lyrics. It just didn’t have the affect on me some other songs did. However, it did feel very French @Benolympique @Bohemia) - 1 (I don’t know why I didn’t rank this one higher. This is normally a genre and song I’d rank higher. I think it just got lost in a sea of European pop bops. Anyway, great lyrics, nice vocal, and fun sound. Congrats on the win @SteveParker @Pablita @Henry_Leon) - R1 (Normally something I’d spring for immediately. I just didn’t like the arrangement at all, and that rubbed me the wrong way unfortunately. Still, appreciate the uniqueness of this entry @IoNuTzZ) - R2 (I ended up liking this song much more than I thought I would. It was a little too slow and didn’t build enough to gets points. Nice entry though @rybak) - R3 (Lyrics took this from the podium to a reserve slot. Visuals were nice and this got my body moving. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get over the let down of the lyrics. Still, nice to have Norway back @vkristijan) - R4 (Similar feedback to Norway here. Best vocal, but just not stimulating enough lyrically. I made share to keep in my reserves though @Ruslan)

  4. I hope it's not too late for me to offer my congratulations to the winners @Henry_Leon, @Pablita, @SteveParker, but also to the other medalists @Finnator123 and @catgamer. Thank you to those who voted for our song. Unforunately it wasn't a very strong showing from us, but even if we had chosen another song, I don't think we could have done better. To our teammates in Murcia Flamingos, the result in the team event is definitely dissapointing, however it was a great experience being in the same team with all of you. Finally, a huge thank you to our host @Cobi for the excellent contest he presented. Below, you can see my ballot. 1st 12 pts Malta 2nd 11 pts France 3rd 10 pts Portugal 4th 9 pts Denmark 5th 8 pts Ireland 6th 7 pts Germany 7th 6 pts India 8th 5 pts Poland 9th 4 pts Slovenia 10th 3 pts Sweden 11th 2 pts Brazil 12th 1 pts Slovakia Res1 Italy Res2 Hungary Res3 China This is the fourth TISC I take part and it is the first time I don't give points to the winning song. As you can see, Italy was very close, but in the end it fell just outside the points. @Makedonas was the only one in our jury who gave points to Italy, but they were not enough to make the combined list. Therefore, this is the second annual TISC in a row, that Greece doesn't give points to the winner. On the other hand, for a second annual TISC in a row, we give 12 points to the song eventually finishing third. Last year it was Great Britain, this year it's Germany. Germany scored 22 points in total (7.33 points per jury member) and this was the only song that received points from all three members of the greek jury. Ireland and Israel were tied for 11th with 9 points (3 points per jury member). I can't wait to meet you all again in France, next winter.

  6. First of all big thank to @Cobi: a wonderful contest (plus very professional statistics), a perfect organization and interesting tips about Spain. Thanks to all the partecipants: it's always a pleasure to have a chance to listen to your music. Last but not least I want to show you the best song of our winner: I know that Ciao ciao is catchy but Amare that is from Sanremo 2021 is a more beautiful song showing all the talent of the singer. Hope you enjoy it! Let me know if you like it!

  7. My reserves: R1 - R2 - R3 - I want to thank you all of us, who sent some points to us. To be honest, I thought more people would be interested in my song, so I consider 20th place a disappoitment, but in fact, in TAISC 2023 was so many greater songs No one couldn't imagine, how difficult is prepare this contest until you did. That's why I bow down to @Cobi for an excellent organization (much mor better than my version ) Even though didn't get a points from me, a big congratulation belongs to you. You're lucky one, because your jury is consisted of several members so you will able to split work on smaller parts. See you next year in Rome! I have never been in Rome and I'm looking foward to vitising this place!

  8. I'm just catching up on the last session now so I want to hand out a final few thank yous to those who gave some votes to the Irish song in the evening session: @hckošice thank you so much for the 5 points, a lovely surprise to start the session @Hipooo wow, thank you for the 9 points from Czech Republic! Another lovely surprise from Czechoslovakia after the points from Slovakia @IoNuTzZ yay! Thank you for the 10 points from Romania to give us a full set of medals! So glad you liked the song @Cobi thank you to our wonderful host for finding a place for the Irish song in the Spanish points Congratulations to Italy on another TISC win, very well done! Enjoy the celebtrations!! @Henry_Leon@SteveParker@Pablita I want to also wish a huge well done to our silver medal winners on a first ever TISC podium finish, how exciting for @Finnator123 And congratulations to @catgamer on bagging another medal for at our contest! Well done I didn't get to spend as much time as usual watching the contest unfold. It was a big day between celebrating my parent's 52nd wedding anniversary and an Irish Grand Slam victory in the 6 Nations tournament But even in what I did manage to catch I can tell this has been an outstanding edition of the contest and one with lots of drama and excitement. I want to say a huge thank you to our wonderful host @Cobi for delivering a fantastic Grand Final and for welcoming us so to his beloved Spain Go and have some well earned rest now, you deserve it! And finally thanks again to everyone for joining the TISC family once again and continuing to make this contest great and something to look forward to. No matter where you have finished today, you have played a part in making this contest a success and I am grateful for your continued support. See all later in the year for the TISC Open 2023!!

  10. Hey hey! Top 5! Thanks to all that voted for and congrats to , well deserved. Here is a look at my Top 12 and reserves. Mexico was my favorite, of course. I thought Sweden and Malta were really nice songs. Spain and Italy had great entries and tied for fourth on my list (my decision to give Spain the 9 points resulted in the "Spain 12" meme). Then the English-language songs took over. Bulgaria was so different from the others I ended up liking it. New Zealandʻs entry was more my type of music. A mix of country and western with blues. The Indonesian yetis (??) got me and Great Britain sneaked in the top 12 over . Stats wise, I only voted for 2 songs that made the Top 10, but voted for 5 that finished bottom 10. Sad I missed all of the fun. @Cobi tremendous hosting and Iʻll see you in Italy!

  15. Team Great Britain Early(ish) Qualification Predictions I did this in August last year before any qualification really started, but now we are getting in to qualifying season I'm providing an update on where Great Britain in heading, with more detail in some sports. Archery 3-6 athletes - I still think women's team is virtually guaranteed with the new qualification system of world rankings. For the men it is possible but they will have to qualify through other means. Artistic Swimming 0-2 athletes - Too early to see if there are any changes, a chance of receiving a retrospective European games Duet spot after reallocation of Team Quotas for other nations. Athletics 65 - 75 athletes - The news here is much more negative with British athletics new selection policy. Here is a more detailed breakdown of what I would expect. Women's (32 athletes) 100m and 200m - A full six athletes due to our relay team. With some various members of that team running the individuals 400m and 400m Hurdles - Again, six athletes due to relays. Probably 3 athletes from flat and 3 from hurdles. 800m - 3 athletes: Keely Hodgkinson, Jemma Reekie and Ellie Baker, although one spot could be taken if Laura Muir tries the double. 1500m - 3 athletes: Laura Muir, Adelle Tracey and one other. 5000m and 10000m - 3 athletes: Eilish McColgan and Jessica Judd will qualify for both, with Amy Eloise Markovic for the 5000m 100m Hurdles - Cindy Sember will be the sole representative. 3000m Steeplechase - Elizabeth Bird and Aimee Pratt like in Tokyo. Marathon - 3 Entrants likely with already 2 qualifications High Jump - Morgan Lake should qualify but she is quite inconsistent. Long Jump - Jasmine Sawyers and Lorraine Ugen Triple Jump - 0 athletes Shot Put - 0 athletes Discus Throw - 0 athletes Hammer Throw - 0 athletes Women's Javelin Throw - 0 athletes Heptathlon - 2 athletes - KJT and hopefully Holly Mills 20km Race Walk - 0 athletes Men's (34 athletes) 100m and 200m - A full 6 athletes due to our relay team. Same as women here. 400m and 400m Hurdles - 5 athletes as Charles Dobson runs to 200m. Cameron Chalmers our sole representative in the hurdles. 800m - 3 athletes: Max Burgin, Kyle Langford and Ben Pattison, Jake Wightman might also attempt the double. 1500m - 3 athletes due to such great depth. Jake Wightman and two others. 5000m and 10000m - 4 athletes will qualify across the two disciplines. 110m Hurdles - David King and Maybe Andrew Pozzi. 3000m Steeplechase - Zak Seddon and Phil Norman through world ranking Marathon - 3 athletes should qualify. High Jump - Joel Clarke Khan and Tom Gale by World ranking Long Jump - 0 Athletes Triple Jump - 0 Athletes Shot Put - Scott Lincoln by world rankings Discus throw - Lawrence Okoye. Hammer Throw - Nick Miller by World Rankings Javelin Throw - 0 Athletes Decathlon - 0 Athletes 20km Race Walk - Callum Wilkinson Badminton 3-8 athletes - Kirsty Gilmour in Singles, Ben Lane and Sean Vendy in Men's Doubles are my confidents, Alexander Dunn and Adam Hall are possible, as well as Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith, and the latter with Chloe Birch. Basketball 0 - 12 athletes - Men are almost impossible, but women have a chance if they find their eurobasket 2019 form. I didn't realise how close they were to qualifying to Tokyo. Boxing 5-9 - Based on European Championships we would have qualified: Kiaran Macdonald (-51kg), Mohammed Akbar (-71kg), and would have been very close for Reese Lynch (-63.5kg), Lewis Williams (-92kg) and Delicious Orie (+92kg). On the women's side, we wouldn't have qualified any athletes but would have been close with Shona Whitwell (-60kg), Rosie Eccles (-66kg). This is of course a very rough estimate as we have other boxers not competing and there are other qualification paths. Breaking 1-3 Athletes - For Men i think we can qualify Kid Kharam and Sunni Brummit, and for the the women I think Emma Houston. Canoe Sprint - 2-5 Athletes - Women's K4 500m have a shout, but the K2 500m should qualify, on the men's side, our best chance is Daniel Johnson in the K1 1000m Slalom - 3-4 - Really should be four with athletes in all categories. Cycling Track - 14 athletes - We are currently comfortably qualifying a full team of 14 riders. The squad I'm most worried about is the men's sprint but it's not a major problem. Road - 5-7 athletes - We are currently qualifying 5 athletes, 2 for women and 3 for men, but we can definitely improve both up a category Mountain bike - 2-4 athletes - We are currently on 3 athletes total, 1 for women and 2 for men, but I think we can gain 4/4 quotas with Evie Richards and Annie Last contenders in the women's. BMX 5-9 athletes - On the men's side we are currently edging Colombia for that 3rd spot on world rankings, on the women's side we only have 1 but 2 is within reach. For Park we could qualify 4/4 but it will be tough with the nature of the Olympic Qualifier Series. Diving 10-12 athletes - Behind China, Great Britain seems to be the "best of the rest and I think we can qualify a full squad like Tokyo, with the athletes being. Men's 3m - Jack Laugher and Jordan Houlden Men's 10m - Tom Daley and Matty Lee Women's 3m - Yasmin Harper and Desharne Bent-Ashmeil. Women's 10m - Andrea Spendolini-Siriex and Lois Toulson. Equestrian 9/9 athletes - Already qualified full quotas. Fencing 1-5 athletes - Carolina Stutchbury is a chance in the Women's Foil, the same with William Deary in the men's Sabre. The men's team foil are ranked 9 in the world and could qualify. Field hockey 16-32 athletes - Both teams are medal hopes and should qualify at the world qualification tournament. Football 0-18 athletes - No chance for the men's team and no official conformation on the women's. The introduction of the nations league qualification system should help. Golf 4-5 athletes - With the qualification system we are almost guaranteed to get 2 golfers per gender, the is a chance, albeit small one, that we can get 3 male golfers. Gymnastics Artistic - 10/10 athletes qualified at the worlds. Rhythmic - 0-1 athletes - Marfa Ekimova may qualify in the all-around. Trampoline - 2-3 athletes - Andrew Stamp for the men and Bryony Page and maybe Isabella Songhurst. Handball 0 athletes - No chance Judo 4-8 athletes - The women's side is very strong with Chelsie Giles (-52kg), Lele Nairne (-57kg), Lucy Renshall (-63kg), Katie Jemima Yeats-Brown (-70kg) and Natalie Powell (-78kg), all qualifying. On the men's side it is a different story with Lachlan Moorhead (-81kg) receiving a continental quota and Jamal Petgrave (-90kg), just sneaking in. Modern Pentathlon 3-4 athletes - I would expect to take a full set of quota places here, especially with Bath hosting the world championships. Rowing 40-48 athletes - We had a great world championships where we would have qualified in every race we entered. I'm expecting the same in 2023 with entrants in every class this time. Rugby seven's 12-24 athletes - On the women's side we are in contention from the world's sevens series, but if we don't then it's likely that spot will go to Ireland and we will claim it at the Europeans. For the men's we need Ireland to qualify from the series so we can get the European Spot. Sailing 12-14 athletes - We should claim quotas in every event but it is really hard to follow sailing so I can't tell what our strength is like right now. Shooting 5-9 athletes - We have already qualified 4 athletes: Amber Hill, Seonaid McIntosh, Nathan Hales, and Lucy Hall. We can definitely qualify Kirsty Hegarty and Aaron Heading in Trap, and Ben Llewellyn in Skeet. There is a chance for Sam William Gowin in Rapid Fire pistol. Skateboarding 2-3 athletes - Lola Tambling and Sky Brown should qualify in Women's Park, we could get someone else from the men's side. Sport Climbing 1-2 athletes - Hamish MacArthur and Max Milne should qualify. Swimming 30- 35 athletes - A mixture of old faces and new ones likely. Men's (16 athletes) 50m Free - Ben Proud and Lewis Burras should qualify 100m Free and 200m Free - Tom Dean , Duncan Scott, Jacob Whittle, James Guy and Matt Richards should qualify for the Relay 400m Free plus - Dan Jarvis and Callum Jervis Should qualify. 100m and 200m Backstroke - Luke Greenbank and Broady Williams 100m and 200m Breaststroke - Adam Peaty and James Wilby, 100m and 200m fly - Jacob Peters and the aforementioned James Guy 200m and 400m IM's - Max Litchfield along with some other already qualified Swimmers Open Water - Hector Pardoe Women's (15 athletes) 50m Free - Anna Hopkin 100m Free and 200m Free - Freya Anderson, Lucy Hope, Abbie Wood, Medi Harris, Tamyrn Van Selm and Holly Hibbot. 400m Free plus - Freya Colbert 100m and 200m Backstroke - Cassie Wild and Kathleen Dawson 100m and 200m Breaststroke - Imogen Clark 100m and 200m Fly - Laura Stevens 200m and 400m IM's - Alicia Wilson and Katie Shanahan Open Water - Alice Dearing Table Tennis 3-5 athletes - Pitchford, Drinkhall and Ho should qualify, a men's team has a chance and maybe Anna Hursey. Taekwondo 5-6 athletes - Women's 57kg, 67kg and +67kg should qualify, same for the men's 68kg and +80kg. Tennis 7-9 athletes - Norrie and Draper in men's singles, Raducanu in Women's and two men's doubles and one mixed doubles pair. Triathlon 5-6 athletes - 4 already qualified with one more women expected, hard but not impossible for the men. Weightlifting 2-4 athletes - Sarah Davies and Cyrille Thatchet have chances but Emily Campbell likely to qualify Totals (Change from previous prediction) Optimistic = 430 (+45) Pessimistic = 291 (+22) Expectation = 375+ (+25)

  25. GOODBYE, SEVILLA! Before we end the ceremony with the winning song, I'd like to thank all users for their participation and support, and especially @mrv86for organizing the draw, @Olympian1010 for helping with the Team Event format and @vinipereira for the improvements made to the logo. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed preparing it. It has been a pleasure to have been able to contribute my grain of sand to the history of TISC. Congratulations to all the users who have met their expectations with the results and encouragement to those who hoped to be in a better position. In 6 months you will have a new opportunity, so don't get discouraged . Yesterday we started the opening ceremony with the first seconds of the Barcelona 1992 ceremony, so what better way to put the finishing touch to these 6 weeks of competition than with the performance of Sarah Brightman and Josep Carreras that closed the first and last Olympics held in Spain. Ladies and gentlemen, Amigos para Siempre

  26. TRENDS OF THE DAY Even though didn't make it to the left part of the scoreboard until the 7th jury, they still managed to get 87 points (44% of the total) before Lunch Break. However, not all nations had the same trend. got 93 points in the first half of the contest but only 37 in the second half, being the only team within the top12 with more than 65% of their points scored thanks to nations voting in Sessions 1 and 2 (71,54%). During this time they managed to set the record for the longest voting streak, with 9 nations in a row giving at least one point to ! On the other hand we have and . Serbia only had 15 points halfway, but they had a fantastic second half scoring 88 points, only behind and . Ukraine had a similar trend, even though they were in last place after 12 juries, they managed to make it to the top10 in the last vote, with 79% of the total points obtained in Sessions 3 and 4.

  43. A GREAT DAY FOR NON-ENGLISH SONGS It is only the fourth time in 20 editions that a non-English song wins the Totallympics International Song Contest! Therefore, Italian becomes the second most succesful language with 2 victories ( A2018 & A2023), while German ( A2014) and Galician ( A2022) remains tied in the third place. However, this is the first time ever that 1st and 2nd place are obtained by non-English songs. The silver medal for is also the best result so far for a song in a Scandinavian/Nordic language. Fun fact: English songs have a 60% win rate in Annual editions, but are undefeated in Open editions.
