Since this is also a sports forum: what are governments in your countries doing, if anything of course, to help the sports community? Not much here yet, but some of the top flight football teams have had the balls to pretty much demand money from the government to prevent them from going bankrupt

Obviously I hope the government won't hand out money to football clubs, especially the bigger ones, but it might be different especially for smaller sports and teams.

Numbers of people hospitalized keeps on dropping (about 100 below the peak and 25 below in ICU). Estimations say that between 70 and 150.000 have had the virus at this point meaning very low lethality here in Denmark. Som blood samples from donors has been tested as well. If the blood donors were representative (and they aren't quite) calculations show a number at about 127.000.

Some preliminary result from a study conducted in Heinsberg (the region in Germany that was hit the hardest):

They randomly tested 500 people and found out that 15 % of them had been infected. If we assume that 15 % of all people in this region have already been infected, then it would mean that 37500 people have been infected, while officially only 1500 people have tested positive. This would mean that the actual number of infected people is 25 times higher than the official number. The study also suggests that the real death rate therefore is 0.37 %. Earlier the scientist who conducted this study also said that they took samples from different objects (door knobs etc.) in a household with infected people and that they weren't able to cultivate the virus in the laboratory, which probably means that it is extremely "difficult" to get infected via objects.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

This is a whole new level of boredom.

Someone made puppets of Alemka, Krunoslav, Davor and Vili. They are the people who lead the daily press-conferences about the coronavirus.

All restrictions are extended at least until 19th April, schools and universities will remain closed at least until 26th April, borders will remain closed at least until 3rd May and all mass events are cancelled until further notice. Also since next Thursday finally we will have to wear mandatory masks in public space, shops, pharmacies, post offices and in workplaces. Final exams in schools are postponed to second half of June. During Easter in church can be only 5 people at Holy Mass. Few days afrer Easter new restrictions will announced, which will probably allow opening all shopps in shopping centers with keeping 2m distance between people and wearing the gloves and masks and in public transport probably could be more people than now.

Today we had 370 new cases and 15 more deaths. Total numbers are for now 5575 cases, 174 deaths and 284 recoveries

    • Spring Nationals, Day #3   Sara Curtis MVP of day 3 of the Italian Spring Nationals!    after improving her PB in the women's 100m freestyle already in the morning heats, in the afternoon final she destroyed not only her previous limit, but also the 9-year old National Record, previously held by our swimming icon Federica Pellegrini 53.01 is the new record   in the same race, Emma Virginia Menicucci was 2nd in 54.14 (big new PB for her) and Chiara Tarantino was 3rd in 54.28   given that Tarantino has a sub-54 PB and also Sofia Morini (here completely out of shape) is a sub-54 swimmer at her best, now the Italian women's 4*100m free relay begins to look like a good one (sure, USA and AUS are out of reach, but the rest of the world is not so far away anymore   more on Today's Finals:   men's 800m Free: 1.Davide Marchello, 7.53.32   women's 200m IM: 1.Sara Franceschi, 2.10.95; 2.Anita Gastaldi, 2.10.97 (PB), both World qualifying times   men's 200m IM: 1.Alberto Razzetti, 1.58.05 (again definitely below the expectations, something's not good with him this week ); 2.Christian Mantegazza, 1.58.95 (big PB, class of 2005)   men's 100m Free: 1.Manuel Frigo, 48.34; 2.Carlos D'Ambrosio, 48.60 (very disappointed with him...he should have swum 1 second faster); 3.Lorenzo Zazzeri, 48.62; 4.Alessandro Miressi, 48.74  even if we can add Ceccon and maybe Deplano (if he convince himself he can swim fast also the 100m and not only the 50m), the 4*100m relay's perspective is really depressing    women's 1500m Free: 1.Simona Quadarella, 16.03.77   in the club relays (the 4*100m medley relays), among the women, Sara Curtis swam "only" 1.01 in the backstroke leg, Bottazzo had a good 1.05.40 in the breastroke leg, confirming his win over the individual distance wasn't a fluke and Tarantino (53.68) and Menicucci (54.11) confirmed the value of their clockings from the individual race also with the flying start among the men, Bacico swam even better than the individual race winning effort (53.42) in the backstroke leg, Martinenghi edged out Viberti in the breastroke leg (58.70 to 58.99), Burdisso swam a decent 50.8 in the fly leg and finally Manuel Frigo confirmed himself the best 100m free specialist of the moment with an impressive 47.2 stint
