  1. Yes, I’ve been having that problem as well. My notifications load slow. The website loads slow. Plus, half the time I can’t seem to respond to things.
  2. A better, non-stereotypical logo
  3. Well that’s harder to do because it’s on HBO. My one word review of episode one would be: huh?
  4. The flame, the medal, gold (I believe 1900 were the first games with gold medals, but quote me on that). Plus, the symbolism of Marianne matches many of the Olympic ideals. All together it works to make a simplistic design that actually says a lot about Paris and Olympics. Plus, the type font is reminiscent of the 1920s, which many people consider to be the Golden Age of Paris. Plus (plus) the round design welcomes the games back Paris, as though the Olympics have come full circle.
  5. Which is very much apart of Paris culture, so...
  6. We can’t all have people holdings hand in a recognizable pattern sir
  7. No, no it’s nothing like. All the events are still held on one day in most university and high school meets. So if hammer of javelin is being thrown the schedule goes like this. Hammer (w) at 09:00, Hammer (m) at 10:30, Javelin (w) at 12:00, Distance races from 13:00 - 15:30, Javelin (m) at 14:00, sprints from 16:00 to conclusion. The meets flow nicely and make for a great day of athletics. Plus, we avoid the big chances of major injury. Athletics is then enjoyable, safe, and fun for everyone involved. I’m not sure what you mean. I was saying that in Poland hammer throw is popular and more well regarded. In the US, hammer is often forgotten about and not shown much. Personally, I think hammers cool as hell, and as important as any other the event.
  8. So...anybody else catch the first episode of the Watchmen yet?
  9. I think it’s brilliant. It might be one of the best logos of all time. That type font is definitely my favorite Olympic font (though Rio’s is fun too)
  10. I actually love that . I might top the last logo. What an elegant and French look.
  11. The image won’t load . Can’t a man just surf Totallympics in peace!
  12. Very true for today. My first class (1 and 1/2 got cancelled), so just a hour long stats class today and that’s it. I should also mention that I love learning and that I spent my childhood reading, surfing Wikipedia, and memorizing useless facts. I also love school, and I have a photographic memory. So really I find my classes rather easy. I’ve never really had to study for tests, and often have to put in very little effort to pass classes. I realize that I’m ultra privileged in that aspect, and I salute those of you who spend 8-12 hours of your day learning, studying, and working.
  13. I really did a lot of the hard work in high school . I received credit for all social sciences (except Econ) and English. That means I’m only taking foreign language classes (Spanish), 1 math class (Statistics), a physical science (astronomy), and a life science (biology). After that it’s just course work, and communications isn’t exactly rocket science. Just a lot of papers, writing, and speeches, which at this point it should be pretty obvious I have a talent for. Yeah, I’ve looked at international education standards. They’re aren’t a lot of countries doing it right, especially according to multiple journal papers that have researched the topic.
  14. So when’s Bruna going to have to know Dutch
  15. I don’t have job and my classes only last around 4 hours each day at my university. Plus, I really have social life. No friends = plenty of time. I spent the weekend get that document worked out, as well as another pet project I’m working on. If your interest in more replays, check the first page of the Totallympics Media thread.
  16. We were worried about the language barrier with them I think.
  17. Plus the IOC reduced their quotas. We’re going to have a lot less nations this time
  18. I generally don’t bring joy to faces. Maybe disgust, hatred, annoyance, or terror, but not joy. I’ll take this as a win
  19. Did you get along with Bruna’s family @heywoodu? I remember you were nervous about that before your trip.
  20. The forum has been struggling for me too @bestmen, so at least it’s not an isolated problem. However, I think mine has to do with the new Safari update more than anything.
  21. Plus @TomJa becuase I know you’ll want to know Here is a list of session replays by date/sport. Some videos do require vpns depending on the country (it seems all the ones on days -2 and -1 do at least). I will be updating the list throughout the week on a twice a day schedule. Please do not edit the document in anyway. Otherwise, enjoy!: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AGY34YtB4rgMlxuqVN-bvtqYe84c23IjZuBFlMXcXo4
  22. A behind the scenes look at trying out the new IOC urban freestyle skiing training program
  23. Shalane Flanagan
  24. Yeah I think Honnzu and a few other big names sued FINA and won easily (definitely spelled that wrong)
  25. Right because hammer is an important event. Most people in the US probably don’t even know the hammer throw is a thing, and our sprinters aren’t exactly the brightest...so they’d get hit often when warming up in the field if we had hammer at the same time as other events.
