Qualification Tracker

Test

  1. Bonfim has 2,033 more qualification points the person who’d knock him out of a quota . In fact, the Brazilian boys are ranked quite high right now. 10 and 26 respectively.
  2. One of the best Eurovision entries of all time . They were fun to watch (when I watched the replays)
  3. No, for the YOG the IBU doesn’t have that unfortunate rule. They way it works for the YOG is: 1. The top 10 nations in the 2018/2019 World Cup ranking get 4 boys quotas and 4 girls quotas 2. A combined ranking was made for the other nations. The best 20 nations on that ranking get 3 boys quotas and 3 girls quotas (so by your performance in the IBU Cup, you actually earned Brazil YOG quotas ) For the regular qualification that’s it. Now, if quotas get a rejected it works like this: The next nation in that combined ranking (31, then 32, then 33, and so on) get 1 spot for each gender (assuming that both genders still have openings). As it is right now, I know 6 girls spots and 5 boys spots need to be reallocated. So 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 would get 1 boy and 1 girl, and 36 would get 1 girl. However, the IBU didn’t publish that combined ranking, so I don’t have any clue what countries would get the spots.
  4. For Biathlon: His birthday makes him eligible (at least according to his FIS profile). There’s no real other requirements he’d need to meet. I bet he just would prefer cross country because he‘ll place better there For Cross Country: He has currently given Brazil a second quota on the men’s side . He just needs to maintain his position in the ranking until December 9.
  5. Well thanks to you and @brunamoura I now have six quotas to fill (which is fine because combing through useless amounts of data is something we all know I love ) I think there will end up being about 20 too many biathlon quotas for the YOG this time around.
  6. Brazil will have about 15-18 athletes in Lausanne I think, but they could easily have 25-30 realistically.
  7. Nope those were just their Biathlon quotas
  8. Brazil actually has 3 boys spots (and 3 girls spots too) for the YOG, unless the national federation decided they only wanted to send 2 and 2. In cross country skiing, Brazil unofficially earned 2 girls spots and 1 boys spot (but that could change because qualification isn’t finished until December 9). Will you be serving as a coach/mentor at the YOG then, or are you just a travel buddy? Also, are you not allowed to train with your gun in Brazil, or is it just a logistical problem that prevents you from shoot training?
  9. I’ll PM you in Discord tomorrow, so we can start that process and brainstorm. I’m still working on many of the venues too, so it will be a bit before I know for certain wether or not I can pull this off.
  10. Oh is that today (well technically tomorrow)? I’m not ready for it to be dark by 17:00 yet . Actually, thinking about it...I think ours isn’t for another week or two.
  11. Because of the qualification rules and available information, I’ll need to wait until the first Youth World Cup event to answer your question
  12. Thanks for the update. I always cheer for Brazilian athletes in the winter because jungle and winter are an odd mix (though I will confess that my heart lies with Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Kazakhstan first (sorry)). I’d imagine the national federation is quite busy right now. Planning for the IBU season, planning for the YOG, and dealing with budget cuts.
  13. Also, I said before. I’d really love to feature Totallympians in my “mock” games. I could use help with the visual look (posters, logo, graphics ideas, pictograms, etc.) , and some of the more challenging bits like coming up with the qualification criteria.
  14. So yes/no. Obviously that’s a problem a bit down the line. The main thing is how a broadcast the games. I use an app on my to broadcast the games. The way I do it however is a bit unorthodox. First, I record the raw footage of events. Then I use mostly iMovie (because I took a class on basic film and motion picture making and learned to use iMovie) to edit the the complete event replay/broadcast. I then then send that video to the app. In the app I broadcast the video and overlay the graphics. It’s broadcast to YouTube in live time or uploaded, but not shown until a certain time (So I could have a broadcast schedule for the games). So the commentary is the piece missing. For now, I’d say yes. If my idea ever makes it to that point where commentary is needed, we can work out the specifics then.
  15. Apparently I’m not the only one noticing the political trends and causes lately. There are some very good articles and threads with a read in this Twitter moment: https://twitter.com/i/events/1188210294255828992
  16. Not if you elect the right people, and keep a watchful eye on those you elect. It would take effort, but we really could limit corruption.
  17. Well, I’ve been building the venues, but the “If you build it, they will come” mentality isn’t working. I haven’t found enough, or really any players, interested in doing a Minecraft Olympic Games play-through. So it’s time for some ingenuity and creative thinking. I’ve come up with a way to have a 2020 Minecraft Winter YOG simulation. I’m going to use the in-game CPUs to play the sports. The games will be fully broadcasted in OBS/IBGS style on YouTube. I will also have qualification systems, results, and other information available. Anyone can follow along or make suggestions. I’m sure their aren’t many people in this community, or any community, that are interested in this, but a little feedback and suggestions/opinions wouldn’t hurt. I would like some opinions as to the following: A) All countries are eligible to qualify for the games B) Only countries with Totallympics members can qualify for the games If anyone would like to help in any way, I’d love to work on the project together. For example, ifs there’s any artists or graphic designers on the forum who’d like to a crack at making some winter sports pictograms; I’d love to feature your designs. If anyone would like to make up qualification systems; I’d love your input. If anyone would to help results documents, etc: I’d love to work with you. If anyone has another service or skill they’d like to provide; I’d gladly except your help. This is a project I’ve been working on for years, and I’d hate to see my work and dedication go to waste. I know it’s rather dumb and childish, but it makes me happy and helps me drown out the negative parts of life and that’s what’s important. Plus, I just think it would be cool to try and though a mini multi-sport games recreation.
  18. Great suggestion. That’s why we make a good team
  19. Are you going to race the IBU Cup this year?
  20. @Wumo I’d love to try and play along. I’m like @hckosice, I’ll need deadline reminders.
  21. Well, he’s doing it right, but people aren’t interested since it’s not close to the games. Many people seriously think these athletes only train 2-4 years to compete in their sport. Plus, his media strategy is poor. No social media, no IBSF articles talking about the new Federation, no public interviews. Unfortunately, it’s just not the right time, nor the right strategy.
  22. It’s okay. I’m well aware of the issues athletes face. I’m friends with a few of the American canoeists and know the issues they faced. There’s also been a considerable amount of complaining for a Dutch user about the Brazilian winter sports confederation for so odd reasons, not quite sure what his deal is (a real Brazilian fan boy that guy ). I mean Go Fund Me has done more for many athletes then some NOCs and NFs
  23. Are now members of the IPC officially as of today.
  24. The Olympic Channel broadcast a lot of the events for free last season (especially on the online platform). Honestly I’d rather pay for vpns, than give more money to NBC.
  25. Not if you pay the $40 Ice Sports pass for NBC. However if you want to watch all Skiing and Biathlon, you will of course need the $70 Snow Pass for NBC. You will also need a cable TV provider to gain access to either meaning th watch winter sports in the US, you pay around $300 a season
