  1. Welcome, welcome! Always nice to have another Angeleño around
  2. Oh, nice to see one of my favorite Italian artists/groups making an appearance for the opening ceremony
  3. wins gold in women's football in packed stadium
  4. It would certainly be interesting if there were back-to-back multi-finisher years given the reputation of the race. 2012/2013 is the only time it’s happened before (with three and two finishers respectively). When are you and @brunamoura giving this a go @heywoodu?
  5. Bornan and FISU have entered a partnership. The joint press release seems to suggest they'll be handling the upcoming results systems, but it's not super clear in my opinion. Anyways, Bornan continues to extend their influence in multi-sports games.
  6. Verys now the solo leader on loop four.
  7. Brume starts the women's long jump with a 6.92m. I believe that's the first she's jumped past the standard, so that should be a second athlete Nigeria in the event. Edit: I can't find info on the wind, so mark that one with an asterisk for the time being.
  8. Yep, definitely thought that after cross country races before
  9. The Barkley Marathon is 20+ hours underway. This X profile is providing some good updates.
  10. It is a different anthem created specifically for this purpose. I heard a recording yesterday, but I can't find it now.
  11. Group D feels like something I'd create in a fantasy game, but never expect to actually happen at the Olympics. I love it
  12. It’s been a relatively joyful week for athletes it seems @Fer GUA
  13. Women's 20km Race Walk seems a bit cursed this cycle between the lap counting error here and the incorrect measurement at the Pan American Games
  14. They have published an explanation for the women's 20km Race Walk results: https://results.accra2023ag.com/wrs/resAG2023/pdf/AG2023/AT/AG2023_AT_C67 OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION ENG_ATW092101.pdf
  15. They might not be final then, becuase the women's results are also a mess.
  16. Van Dyk improved the GR in women's javelin by more than two meters (with a mark of 60.80m) Not every day you see winning a medal in javelin
  17. Fekansa beat Gathimba in the men's 20km Race Walk. Definetly one of the more surprising results in athletics.
  18. The IOC also published a bunch of new information regarding the participation of “individual neutral athletes.”
  19. Also, @Fer GUA will likely be happy to know that suspension has been provisionally lifted, meaning athletes might be able to compete under the flag in Paris.
  20. The IOC accepted some more changes of nationality today. Pou is definitely one to note given she won an open water swimming quota earlier this year.
  21. I missed the announcement back in February, but was sanctioned by WADA for non-compliance, so they may be at risk of having to compete under the flag in Paris. As @thepharoah pointed out, their flag has been abstent (for the most part) from the ongoing African Games.
  22. Tsige Duguma wins the women's 800m and goes under the Olympic standard Nakaayi also finishes under the standard, but I believe she already had already done that before.
  23. My favorties before the live shows are... I think some of those songs could be difficult to perform/stage, so my rankings could definetly change during the contest. Plus, there are a few songs I might like more if they are staged/performed well.
  24. A few NRs in athletics, but no one too close to any of the Olympic standards. I'd be a bit surprised if anyone gets a standard, since it's so early in the season.
  25. CANOC is also pushing for the inclusion of cricket in the 2026 CAC Games.
