  1. “Oh! He gave them chicken,” might be one my favorite commentary moments in a while.
  2. Is there any particular reason you project getting the reallocation instead of if a quota becomes available in the men's sprint?
  3. Ñ may still have some uses in Tagalog from what I can find. @LDOG maybe knows more, since he made the original post.
  4. He added the "ñ," which is considered a distinct letter in the Spanish alphabet (at least the way I was taught).
  5. Karlsruhe has applied to host The World Games 2029.
  6. A little bit of news from last night... As far as I can tell, Jhuskarly Patricia Becerra Montesinos became the first refugee athlete to win a medal at the (Youth) Bolivarian Games. She'll box for the gold medal later today
  7. If you don't know the IOC nation code, you can also click on the happy face and view a complete list there.
  8. I had hope after yesterday, but no quota for
  9. This thread provides a peak at some of the Nike sponsored uniforms for this summer. Kenya will ditch the honeycomb look it seems. I like the color splotch pattern for the track uniforms, but I wish they differed a bit between nation (in terms of orientation). skateboard uniforms continue to be quite different for other sports. I think these are good, but I’m interested in what the athletes think.
  10. If you really want to qualify, you’d have @Josh award the quotas to your closest rivals midway through the competition
  11. Just in case there was any doubt about accepting their quota.
  12. World Athletics plans to introduce prize money for Olympic events.
  13. If France doesn’t need to utilize their host quotas (one per gender), those turn into universality quotas according to the qualification system.
  14. Pretty neat milestone for women’s sports broadcasting.
  15. Copy/Paste error from formatting error, but I feel hella dumb doing it in April
  16. Team Update and Thoughts (April 2024) Current Quotas: 2 Archery - 1 (men's individual recurve) Fencing - 1 (men's foil) Schembri and D'Amour qualifiying has provided some nice relief after a rather quiet qualification season. Both are certainly some of the islands' best athletic prospects. If they stay healthly and avoid any miscellaneous issues, I look forward to seeing what results they can achieve in Paris. Ideal Quota Allocation: 6-8 @Topicmaster1010 simulated 8 quotas for Team ISV, which feels a bit generous at this moment (not that it wasn't appreicated ). I'm definitely keeping my eye on Michelle Smith (athletics). If she can get a quota in the women's 400m hurdles, I believe that will garantee an additional male quota in athletics as well. Other than Smith, I can't envision any other quotas outside universality allocations. I have no idea which sports/athletes the NOC targeted, but the following allocation would leave me very pleased: Archery - 1 (women's individual recurve) Golf - 1 (women's individual) [Swayne had that nice 6th place result at Santiago 2023. It would be cool to see her compete in Paris.] Swimming - 2 Sailing - ? [I don't feel like it was a particularly great cycle for the sailing team. Dale might be a candidate for a universality quota in ILCA7 though.]
  17. Well, turning into a pretty great week for I'm happy he was able to get the quota here. I'm holding onto a little hope that one of the universality quotas may go to Abernathy (assuming she has the MQS).
  18. Refugee Olympic Team will be announced on May 2, in case that wasn’t posted before.
  19. Pickering through the men's QFs
  20. Nice to see Abernathy making the 1/8th Finals, even if she didn't make it any further. D'Amour through the QFs.
  21. We didn't get a total solar ecilpse in California, but it was still cool see a partial one in the shadows on the ground
  22. should now have a representative in fencing I’ll be pretty happy if they can get additional quotas in archery, athletics, or any other sports.
