  9. I have a day-off at work today, so I started to prepare top 8 lists in athletics, sth similar to what @OlympicsFan has done for swimming. Results from outdoor season 2021, only athletes who qualified - and will probably perform in Tokyo - included. I have put the first part (men's track events) in the Athletics at the Summer Olympics 2020 thread: https://totallympics.com/topic/7393-athletics-at-the-summer-olympic-games-2020/?do=findComment&comment=389805 More to come soon. Let me know if you notice something's wrong on these lists. Some questions I have during making them: Is this true what English wikipedia says that Filip & Jakob Ingebrigtsen will participate in 1500m only and skip 5000m? Will Soufiane El Bakkali participate in 1500m (he is 4th on toplists in 1500m and 1st in 3000m steeple)? And Issac Makwala - is he planning to run not only 400m but 200m as well?

  11. BBC Sports app: Serena Williams will not play in Tokyo.
  12. Angelika Cichocka (W 800 or 1500m) wrote on Facebook that she is not going to Tokyo. Another loss for Polish athletics in the last days.... She has just joined Adam Kszczot, Sofia Ennaoui, Karolina Kołeczek, Krystian Zalewski...
  13. English wikipedia says 28 teams are available in mixed event. But I understand after the Ranking Round only 16 best teams advance to the main event on Saturday day 1, starting from 1/8 elim??? No change of schedule possible here, allowing all the mixed event teams participate on Saturday? Because in other events everyone participates in elimination rounds.
  14. US olympic team according to Polish NBA Facebook fanpage Z Dystansu. It is unofficial, but if it is true they look very strong. - Kevin Durant - Damian Lillard - Devin Booker - Jayson Tatum - Bradley Beal - Bam Adebayo - Draymond Green - Kevin Love - Zach LaVine - Jrue Holiday - Khris Middleton - Jerami Grant ?
  15. Team Poland for Tokyo - according to Polish daily sports newspaper Przegląd Sportowy Fabian Drzyzga Grzegorz Łomacz Michał Kubiak Wilfredo Leon Kamil Semeniuk Aleksander Śliwka Mateusz Bieniek Jakub Kochanowski Piotr Nowakowski Łukasz Kaczmarek Bartosz Kurek Paweł Zatorski or Damian Wojtaszek (libero) Tomasz Fornal, Norbert Huber (reserves)
  16. Sofia Ennaoui - athletics, W 1500m (injury) I am so disappointed and so sorry for her. Big loss. One of my favourite Polish athletes these days.
  17. Sławomir Napłoszek (born in 1968) who qualified for Tokyo today in men's archery particated in olympics previously in Barcelona 1992. So it was 29 years ago... I think it is a record achievement in Polish olympics history, And I guess it will be also one of the bigest gaps in wordwide olympic history.

  19. There are so many sportsmen/sportswomen from other countries I cheer on... and they are from very different countries. And every olympics I find someone who I noticed and liked in some prelims/qualification rounds and begin to cheer on as well... But I think my favourite would be Mutaz Essa Barshim - his coach is Polish, would be great if Mutaz wins, we don't have any medal chances for Poland in M HJ. But I'm afraid that Mutaz is one of these athletes whose chances are smaller than they would be if the games were in 2020
