  1. Can't wait for Ganna and Lambie going for superb times in the unbroadcasted qualifying.
  2. Everyone just casually thinking "oh sure, this'll be fine, let's not chase her" when Fidanza attacked Nice to see the men's team sprint be a bit close for a moment, although in the end...it just wasn't
  3. Yeah, so if there's an issue with her eligibility, age is definitely not it, because she's born in 1996. The most uncertain thing is about the date of her diploma and on what exactly they mean with the 'preceding calendar year'.
  4. Should that be read as 'all of 2020' or as 'between 11 December 2020 and 11 December 2021'? I'm not entirely sure. In Gabi's case, she 'finished' her study in 2019 but received her diploma in January 2020 (the date on the diploma is from that month). As we saw early last year, we really can't count on the Brazilian federation figuring this stuff out, that's why we are trying.
  5. Thanks, I had not seen that! Although I did see 28 years being mentioned, but if I'm not mistaken they changed that to 25 years as maximum age from Luzern onwards? Which would still be fine in Gabi's case, since she'll turn 26 in May 2022. I'll send this on though, after today's races we'll see if she is within these rules
  6. Worth it, man. Absolutely worth it Especially in São Carlos, there's a wonderful place downtown where you can make yourself a cup full with whatever toppings you desire
  7. Where can one find the exact eligibility rules in order to compete (in cross-country skiing, specifically)? I can find this document, which mentions some rules around having to be eligible, but it doesn't say exactly who is eligible. https://www.fisu.net/medias/fichiers/20210201_fisu_regulations_lucerne_20211.pdf It is specifically about Gabi Neres and whether or not she'd be eligible to compete. https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/athlete-biography.html?sectorcode=cc&competitorid=175343
  8. Odd, the Taiwanese lady isn't on the start list for today's São Carlos race. Surely she didn't travel all the way to Nowhereville in Brazil for a sprint qualifying of 1,4km?
  9. Oh and in the women's races there's a Taiwanese lady, Christine Kan, about whom I was curious as to why she came to São Carlos of all places instead of for example the FIS races happening...in Taiwan this weekend! Our local spy talked to her yesterday, turns out she lives in the US and started rollerskiing two months ago. She'd always been checking the results, including those of the Brazilian races, and decided to go there...because. And because it'd be an easier travel than Taiwan, apparently.
  10. That is basically what I meant, just found it curious to see him compete there and be that far behind. His level is higher than some of Project Bogota, like Mexican German Madrazo and his buddy (I should mention@mrv86 here), but way lower than some others there. Anyhow, merely a curiousity, nothing more
  11. And that's a first South American title for the Norwegian-Chilean Sebastian Endrestad, winning the freestyle sprint ahead of Basque-Brazilian Manex Silva and full Brazilian Victor Santos. Cesar Baena of Venezuela, who went public with his non-stop complaints about the qualifying system, was there as well, one and a half minute behind the fastest time in the three-minute qualifying. https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=39333 Convincing fastest time in qualifying for @brunamoura, but a tactical mistake in the final cost her the win: never go into a long downhill first, especially with the wind coming from the front. Ceci Dominguez of Argentina and Brazilian Duda Ribera passed her out of the slipstream, Duda took the win. It's fine, qualifying is the main thing in the Olympic battle anyway (at least according to the Brazilian federation's own criteria at the moment). https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=39332
  12. Quite the performance for this young Brazilian in São Carlos
  13. He should have just put a spell on them, easy peasy.
  14. It's been going on for five hours and not even Wikipedia has any results yet, then you know it's bad Where are provisional intermediate results supposed to be?
  15. This result at the Costa Rica world championships qualifier A 113-darts leg
  16. Good chance there'll be a fresh young 51-year old competing this season
  17. Israel Start-Up Nation has found Fuglsang to replace Froome's job of, you know, keeping the bikes warm and such. Also signed Hugo Houle as random 30+ name. Meanwhile Bahrain-Victorious has signed Luis Leon Sanchez, so he'll get back to great things next year, and strong Danish talent Johan Price-Pejtersen, whom with this we can expect to have a sensational first World Tour season if Bahrain keeps their collective 2021 magic up next year. One Filip Maciejuk of Poland has also signed there. Can't say I have heard of him, but that will obviously change next year
  18. Irish cycling won't really miss anything with Roche out of it (in terms of results), unless that'd happened five years ago. Martin still had something in the tank this year, so that's a shame.
  19. By the way, Bloemen was on WR pace until roughly 8km. I thought the top-3 mentioned here was just that, the top-3, but apparently that was the full result...the women's 5k even had only two participants, only one of which can be seen as internationally competitive. That's....not a whole lot, even the men's 5k only had eight participants.
  20. Most of their PB's were skated on the significantly faster Salt Lake City though. Times like these (and Weidemann's 6:46.81 5km record of last night) halfway in October are incredible though. Either a great sign, or a sign of peaking way too hard, way too early, time will tell
  21. Jesus, the Canadians are in shape. Tiny bit early, but alright
