  1. Austria is taking the next - possibly slightly questionable - step, by making vaccinations obligated from February on. One wonders what will happen to those who refuse, will they be thrown in prison and/or be hunted down with a vaccine-shooting rifle or something?
  2. What exactly is this Arena Scaligera? Googling gives some indoor hall of some volleyball team but also an epic Roman theater....which would be absolutely amazing And Bormio seems cool
  3. Just reading this now, but that's truly a shame. Probably a smart decision though, it's always best to listen to one's own body even when you're an Olympic medal candidate.
  4. Quite the decisive Nations Cup win for Kristers Aparjods! https://www.fil-luge.org/cdn/uploads/nationscup-men-yanqing-result.pdf
  5. Well that sucks balls FIL had one of the very best players of all federations, with every run being easily available in a very, very easy overview instead of the sort of labyrinth that is the Olympics website... I do assume every single run will still be available on-demand and so on? That link is not so promising yet, no idea where to actually find things and I badly hope they won't have some spoilers in the video titles...
  6. You've got your next thing going on for the next three months huh?
  7. The whole disappearance thing is the most worrying part though.
  8. Three years ago he was surprisingly and sort of out of nowhere appointed as coach of the Dutch sprint team, now Hugo Haak has just as surprisingly announced his retirement from the team - two months after signing the contract until Paris 2024. He's guided the team to quite a few successes in those three years (WK and EK is World/European championships, OS/ES is Olympic/European Games):
  9. Who knows....they also announced Kensington will continue, it's just that this singer will leave after the upcoming tour
  10. I am now desperately trying to figure out which part could sound like that
  11. Damn, little bunch of rule-breakers in Kazakhstan past weekend https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=39470 Women's race also had three not following the marked course. Makes you wonder whether the course was actually marked well.
  12. It is a sort of 'joke' song of course, since the story is meant to be fun and nothing serious at all. It is considered a valuable one in terms of Dutch language though, since Drs. P is absolutely majestic when it comes to playing with words. Then again, without being a (preferably native) Dutch speaker, that part is obviously hard to understand About Kensington: this week, their singer has announced he is going to retire from the band
  13. No worries, I'm assuming everyone understands the actual important things in life (like work) are priority and when duty calls, one can hardly say "Nah screw your issues, I'm posting music votes".
  14. Same here. And really not because it's anything against Sweden or even this artist or song (I like the song actually), but come on, it's a worldwide super mega hit Which is no guarantee, I know.
  15. Basically similar to last year's Christmas lockdown The negatives: one now needs QR codes even to go buy clothes or a toy or something Luckily a certain Brazilian Totallympian has been officially registered at city hall this week and will get her social security number soon, without which one can't even get a valid EU QR code. Basically without her social security number, she'd need to be tested simply to go buy a book or something (she is of course fully vaccinated, but that can only be registered once you have...a Dutch social security number ) For me, all the negative parts are in some way related to this and her travels and such. The positives: face masks are back in supermarkets, meaning semi-anonymous grocery shopping is back And more restrictions in cinemas are back, but they will remain open, which means....just like last year we can go to a movie with plenty of empty seats around us on all sides and non popcorn chewing and chips back grabbing people next to us, fantastic And working from home as strong advice will remain (and after all this, working at home for a majority of the time will remain the norm in my workplace anyway) How about the land of the Tatras?
  16. I played a few songs while cooking last week and the Brazilian song got zero reaction, so I think that'll be fine
That's it for the votes of the Dutch jury. We hope everyone is enjoying a nice and music-filled day! Lastly, we'd like to thank our Israeli friends for hosting what is undoubtedly going to be another wonderful edition of TISC!
  18. This part had so much shuffling around all the time Songs went from 2nd to 10th and back again and everything in between.... The Netherlands Ireland 11 Denmark 10 New Zealand 9 Germany 8 Czech Republic 7 Italy 6 Mexico 5 Portugal 4 Ukraine 3 Canada 2 Spain 1
