  1. So about that Bahrain's affair (last paragraph) https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/cyclisme/tour-de-france/tour-de-france-des-medicaments-indetermines-saisis-chez-bahrein-victorious-avant-le-depart_AV-202206300788.html Contrary to some twitter talks, the case was not started after some Antoine Vayer shitposting on the internet , but because multiple hotels managers heard during the last TDF noises of home trainers used at night in Bahrain rooms. Physical activities during the night will remind us of the heydays of EPO doping when it was used basically for the riders not to drop dead
  2. Common sense finally prevailing : Covid-positive riders will not necessarily have to leave the race. https://www.ouest-france.fr/tour-de-france/tour-de-france-2022-les-coureurs-positifs-au-covid-ne-seront-pas-forcement-mis-hors-course-c1f4d750-f6f0-11ec-8d9e-ebb0bb3f5c46
  3. When you think it's sarcasm, but actually it isn't.
  4. 6 medals for so far which is already one more than 2017, 2019 and 2020(1) combined.
  5. A bullshit excuse that happens to be true ? https://www.lequipe.fr/Escrime/Article/Daniel-jerent-a-obtenu-les-preuves-que-son-controle-positif-au-dorzolamide-etait-involontaire/1327851 French fencer Daniel Jérent who was provisionnary banned before Tokyo and who claimed his positive result was due to a blood transfusion he had at the hospital after a car crash was actually right.
  6. Chloé Chevalier (26 yo) not sure if she will keep racing next year
  7. Sport Sport when you were betting on your own life In France, we have been traumatized with temporary facilities like this since the Furiani accident (1992)
  8. Would you ski jump here ? (Wembley, 1961)
  9. Simon Desthieux (Biathlon, )
  10. Despite securing his first big Crystal Globe, QFM was apparently completely pissed to cross the line in second position "only"
  11. (2021) https://biv.com/article/2021/12/nhl-continues-be-fan-favourite-canadas-pro-sports-rankings-poll (ranked by leagues) 1) NHL : 55% 2) NFL (36%) / CFL (32%) 3) NBA (31%) 3) MLB (31%) 5) MLS (22%) I assume that soccer will be ranked higher, if the question was about sports and not leagues.
  12. Not really, RL country is also RU country. You can't draw a line here like the M62 in England. (and it's also a very minor sport in our country unfortunately)
  13. I remember reading that the switch to artificial pitches basically destroyed the game in the region.
  14. (2020) https://www.culturaydeporte.gob.es/dam/jcr:07b62374-bfe9-4a65-9e7e-03a09c8778c3/encuesta-de-habitos-deportivos-2020.pdf People who had followed sports on television, radio or Internet during the year 1) Football : 53.7% * 2) Tennis : 31.6% 3) Basketball : 25.2% 4) Cycling : 23.1% 5) Moto Racing : 19.4% 6) Auto Racing : 18.4% 7) Athletics : 12.8% 8) Swimming : 9.5% 9) Handball : 8.9% * Doesn't seem that high to me
  15. field hockey at 3.69 are just people who need their hockey fix during the summer right ?
  16. It's funny, because when you hear promoters of hyper marginal sport like korfbal here, they always talk of their sport in other countries like something super popular, right next to football, but it's rarely the case Same with honkbal (love that name)
  17. So all these years were only a lie
  18. To me at least, but I don't follow the sport much In Europe, I can only think about Irlande (and that's arguably). Outside of it ? Canada, the US, India maybe, perhaps some caribbeans nations (Jamaica ?), and most oceanian nations (Australia to start with).
  19. You're old, it's not les barjots anymore since the 90's
  20. Australia now (2021) I'm so jealous of the Australian sport landscape with four different football codes ranked there Half of the Australian population is at least "neutral passionate" (???) about AFL and tennis. All right, that's 3 countries, only 200 to go
  21. Swimming does seem a bit too high, it's not like they're are thousands flocking to pools for swim mets every week across Germany (or in any another country for that matter).
  22. I was looking for a similar study for my country, but unfortunately didn't find much, except this one from last year https://www.olbia-conseil.com/2021/06/17/lappetence-des-francais-pour-le-sport-et-les-nouveaux-modes-de-consommation-du-sport/ I'm not sure of the methodology or the questions asked, but they come with this ranking, witch seems fine to me: (rugby represented by a gridiron ball, damm parisians )
  23. Polls are good, they are better than (educated) guesses anyway. Here's one for Germany, asking in which sport Germans have a strong interest : https://www.marktmeinungmensch.de/studien/die-beliebtesten-sportarten-der-deutschen/ To no one surprise, Fussball gets the more votes, then it's getting more surprising with ski jumping as a number two, athletics still a popular sport, etc.
