  1. Interesting enough. It seems the sport is privately owned by a company called Omnikin I'm not exactly sure how it works...
  2. The excitation is just too much, he had to take a break
  3. 3-1 at half-time. If only, there was only one match, I could see us going through. But here with two games...
  4. For the most part, I'm not interested in the OCs. Really not my cup of tea at all, but If I had to pick one moment, that would be Mohamed Ali during the Atlanta 96 ceremony.
  5. It even sounds worse than I thought. Some competitions starting not counting anymore or being downgraded for unknown or dubious reasons but only for a couple of designated nations. At that point, I also can think of national federations taking this shit to courts.
  6. Is it even possible for individuals to loose points ? I had the impression that it was only a cumulative ranking.
  7. The regional german bid is indeed still alive https://www.spiegel.de/sport/olympia/warum-eine-moegliche-olympia-bewerbung-mit-nrw-fuer-2032-kaum-chancen-haette-a-1292702.html
  8. Television is still the main player by far.
  9. Anyway, I couldn't give two fucks about Marianne but I actually like the logo, a lot more that the bidding one.
  10. Sharing a border with a country and knowing so little about it
  11. The FIBA 3*3 twitter account trying to defend their decision (in french) "but, but, you still can count yourself the ranking by adding each nations individual points"
  12. It almost sounds like someone just noticed that there were some people somewhere on the Internet that discovered how BS their ranking was and that it was time to hide it.
  13. Hazena (that other handball from a country that doesn't exist anymore) played by women in... France (Pershing Stadium near Paris) in the 20's
  14. Volata a football code invented in 1928 in Mussolini 's Italy. It was a weird mix of handball (field handball then), football association and rugby. Somehow, it looks a bit like current gaelic football to me. The sport never took off.
  15. FFS https://sport.francetvinfo.fr/cyclisme/championnats-deurope-de-cyclisme/direct/championnats-deurope-de-cyclisme-sur-piste-1er
  16. Yes at some point, virtually every large stadium in the country served also a velodrome (Parc des Princes, Parc Lescure, Gerland and well Marseille's velodrome to name a few). There were hundreds of them, nowadays, there must be a dozen left. Too bad, we could have used them to learn how to run a pursuit team...
  17. No, I don't know the specifics. From the wording, I believe they only used world championships results (no world cups or world league results). The overall tally seems a bit low to me also (the US with "only" 104 medals ?), so maybe, sports without a proper world championship have been excluded from the table. PS I'd be interested by that Brazilian guy table
