  1. OLYMPIC FOCUS I will try to go through all previous performances and to find out, what the future brings, if particular sport will have representatives in Tokio. PART 15 Cycling Track Track Cycling is surprisingly not so well developed in our country, you will not found any competitors on international level. But there is something, you should know. It took ages, before our government finally found resources to cover track near Novo Mesto (Češča Vas). After more than 20 years this wonderful object is under roof, and this is not only good for Track Cycling development, but also for our Indoor Athletics, this winter was organized first ever National Championships on tracks. Until now, all running events, except sprints, took place in Austria (Linz or Vienna). This does not mean, Slovenia never had an Olympian on Tracks. In Montreal 1976 Bojan Ropret finished 22nd in Men's Individual Pursuit. It will take some time, in Tokyo there will be no Slovenian on velodrome, but maybe in Paris or at least in Los Angeles this could change. EDIT: Kristjan Gregorič was last Slovenian to compete in WCH, it was in Apeldoorn 2011, where he finished second to last (49th) in Sprint.
  2. OLYMPIC FOCUS I will try to go through all previous performances and to find out, what the future brings, if particular sport will have representatives in Tokio. PART 14 Cycling Road Road Cycling is currently one of the most prominent sports in Slovenia. Primož Roglič is best cyclist in the World rankings, which is remarkable. Roglič has won last Tour of Spain (Vuelta 2019) and took silver medal at WCH in Time Trial in Bergen 2017. Former ski jumper is also current Slovenian Sportsman of the Year. Tadej Pogačar showed great talent several times, finishing as best young rider 3rd in Vuelta, not to mention others. Back to Olympics, our country has not won an Olympic medal so far. Closest was Andrej Hauptman in Athens 2004, where he took 5th place. To this day, 35 men and 2 women competed at Olympic Games, being first in 1924 Josip Kosmatin, as first lady was an Italian veteran Sigrid Corneo, competing in Beijing 2008. Most numerous participation was 5 athletes (1984, 2008, 2016), which will be equaled in Tokio, because according to UCI Rankings 4 men and 1 woman could perform in Japan. Until now, Tadej Valjavec is the only one, who competed at three Olympics, though Bojan Ropret raced in 1976 on Track and later on twice in Road Cycling.
  3. Winner of Dora 2020 and Croatian representative for Rotterdam is 32 year old singer Damir Kedžo with "Divlji vjetre". (Wild wind)
  4. About Germany, it is going to be another Slovenian. Benjamin Dolič, with artistic name Ben Dolic. He sang with D Base in Ema 2016 (Slovenian preselection).
  5. Slovenia K.A.T. - Imaginative Man So, finally here it is, another Slovenian entry. This time it is K.A.T., who will be representing us, with a song "Imaginative Man". K.A.T. is more known as Katarina Čas, actress, TV host, model and from last year on also occasional singer. Her first few songs got quite good reception, though you can tell, she is not a proffesional singer. (so, no 12 pts for us ). Just kidding, of course, if you like song, vote, if not, thank you for your time. Katarina Čas was born in 1976 and was in 90s very popular TV host (music show Atlantis, later dating show Zmenkarije). She came back in 2005 with special music show Aritmija on RTV SLO, which gave a lot of attention on less known genres, later on she hosted also one of the last music charts shows in our country (Lestvica na drugem / yes, we do not have no top of the pop shows here,...). Most recently she is known as an actress, who found her way to Hollywood. She starred in Wolf of Wall Street with Leonardo di Caprio and Margot Robbie. She also played with Al Pacino in Danny Collins. So, here it is,...
  6. I ran two times Wings for Life in Ljubljana, my friend (Vid Senica) even won Slovenian race, and for award he went next year to Florida. Sadly Ljubljana was cancelled, if there is no car to chase you, just plain app run is a bit boring and without any meaning.
  7. Maybe Fak tomorrow for #11.
  8. And this is the winner for Slovenia. 35 years old singer Ana Soklič, who competed already in two previous national selections as Diona Dim.
  9. Well done, this is our maximum.
  10. Stupid replays, show us the range.
  11. Still looking fine...
  12. Come on, we can do this. ??
  13. Crazy women relay, hoping for similar men's, maybe our guys get in the mix, for atleast top 6
  14. Latvia already lapped. ?
  15. Another boring stage of this Ski Tour. with very original name.
  16. I agree this discipline should stay in programme. Even our team could be a medal contender in the future. Today I am really satisfied with performances of our young talents. 19th place is very respectible, and Alex Cisar shot 20 shots without needing any spare rounds.
  17. Having not missed first two days, brunamoura would be already in 2nd, amazing.
  18. I was wondering the same.
  19. Wow, Maruša Mišmaš outsprinted Yavi, amazing win.
  20. Wow, this is going to be tough to choose so fast, but I am delighted will continue its 100 % participation. We 're back, baby.
  21. I still think could join those eight nations with a medal, today was close. Best chances single mixed relay (you never know) and Men's Mass Start (Fak with 20/20, why not). EDIT: Sorry, just saw tomorrow's start list, what a pleasant surprise, Alex Cisar, junior World Champion, and Nika Vindišar, another youngster are representing our team.
  22. I told you Fak would be a factor in Individual, sadly his run is not good enough to win a medal.
  23. Ok, so red bib is given to Svahn, great job FIS and Sweden organizers.
  24. Fak has his best chance tomorrow, if he shoots 20/20.
