  1. Japan's contribution to science is immense. Not that long ago, a group of Japanese organic chemists invented reactions known as cross-coupling reactions (and improved the already existing ones, giving them greater depth and use) which were revolutionary and made it possible to do synthesis of very complicated molecules - medicines, different farmaceuticals making their production elegant, going faster (meaning fewer steps in order to produce desired molecule) and cheaper. The reaction involved metals like paladium, Pd and some of them a non-metal boron. These reactions enabled connection of such structures in one step only. Akira Suzuki, Ei-ichi Negishi and Kenkichi Sonogashira will be always remembered. Suzuki and Negishi won Nobel Prize in 2010. The synthesis of Vancomycin (an antibiotic) using intermolecular Suzuki coupling is shown bellow.
  2. The most shocking result of the Round Beside Burundi thrashing South Korea
  3. Relevant international artists famous here and now are not all bad. There are also piles of thrash among old famous artists too, no doubt. It's just, at least to me (or it may be that I am just too old for the modern modern music ) that the artist you mentioned sound soul-less to me. They may have vocals and all the assets but they fail to convey any emotion, any message. And now I am being biased and will tell, all these you mentioned sound sooo overproduced that I don't know where music ends and where technology starts. Someone should try to enter more live versions maybe
  4. Famous artist and quality don't go in one sentence frequently nowadays. So, long live TISC
  5. Agree. imagine if you knew only that the final result is 4-3 for Uzbekistan, not figuring out that Togo lead 3-0 in the half time
  6. Just voted. And it is just two days until the first results are revealed
  7. Well this is THE blast from the past earth. I was so young and innocent
  8. Is a Renaissance then next in the line?
  9. on the rise again, seems to be second country with the second wave beside Iran
