  1. Love this quote from Dina Ellermann. "One of our prominent jumping riders has a famous quote from a few years ago," Ellermann explained. "He said that it will be more likely for an Estonian to go to the Moon than for an Estonian equestrian to go to the Olympics. This will be the most perfect way to prove him wrong!" https://www.eurodressage.com/2021/06/26/dina-ellermann-gets-late-invitation-go-2021-olympic-games-tokyo
  2. The Dutch fail to inflate their team...
  3. Ćorić is out too. So that's two further spots already.
  4. Ugh. I am not a fan of some these Tripartite picks. Jungblut got one for Rio and them bombed out. Now he got one again? What gives?
  5. Australia 8th Olympics for Andrew Hoy, 6th for Mary Hanna. Eventing Chris Burton and Quality Purdey, owned by Claire Poole. Groom, Coriander Cousins Andrew Hoy and Vassily de Lassos, owned by David and Paula Evans. Groom, Clémentine Girardeau Shane Rose and Virgil, owned by Shane and Niki Rose and Michelle Hasibar. Groom, Rachel Watts Reserve combination: Stuart Tinney and Leporis, owned by Stuart and Karen Tinney. Groom, Karen Tinney Dressage Mary Hanna and Calanta, owned by Mary and Rob Hanna. Groom, Casey Gill. Kelly Layne and Samhitas, owned by Kelly and Nori Maezawa. Groom, Satomi Ishikuri Simone Pearce and Destano, owned by Simone and Gestüt Sprehe. Groom, Emily Reudavey
  6. Mario Deslauriers is making a comeback after Seoul 1988, so he just nudged Naploszek in this respect.
  7. WP team announced. https://www.instagram.com/p/CQg3xvmJkws/ Honestly, I would not be surprised if the FINA president 'suggestion' was based on nothing else but South African previous tendency of declining water polo teams (which is meaningless here and now). That's pretty much how low my opinion of the FINA the federation is.
  8. Or maybe not? We will know very soon either way.
  9. Ah, here it is. http://mastkd.com/2021/06/exclusive-wild-cards-for-tokyo-2020-olympic-games/ Maybe not 100% official, though.
  10. Equestrian eventing Stuart Tinney & Celebration One of the big favorites gone just a day before official nomination was to be out. Screw this...
  11. Any idea why taekwondo is so late with their picks?
  12. Belgium Jumping Niels Bruynseels (Delux van T & L) Jerome Guery (Quel Homme de Hus) Gregory Wathelet (Nevados S) Reserve: Yves Vanderhasselt (Jeunesse) Eventing Lara de Liedekerke-Meier (Alpaga d'Arville) Dressage (TBD in early July)
  13. Equestrian (re)reallocation +1
  14. Heike Holstein has been added to the entry list. So it's all settled now, pending the appeal.
  15. def. yesterday 10-7. is leading 3-0 right now, still in the early stages. Nevertheless, if they win, the doors will be wide open for the Dominican Republic.
  16. James Connor and Dane Rawlins have confirmed they will be taking this to CAS if the appeal is not accepted (it should be resolved tomorrow).
  17. Team Canada named. Honestly, I am shocked that Jessica Phoenix got the nod over Karl Slezak, Hawley Bennett-Awad *and* Lisa Marie Ferguson. Fishy.
  18. Equestrian reallocation -1 +1
  19. Pakistan is out of equestrian, but Estonia, Singapore and Sri Lanka are now confirmed and should be added. Both Estonia and Latvia will now make their equestrian debuts. Lithuania better get their shit together. @Werloc
  20. Yeah. Looks like it might be an administrative error on their part after all. This is very reminiscent of the Pyeonchang bobsleigh fiasco.
  21. I knew he actually lives and trains in Austria, but apparently yes, he is Slovak. Oh well. We'll see if anything changes going forward.
  22. And there it is... Michael Bugan's ride For President is listed as Austrian-owned. I should have kept track of this. https://data.fei.org/Horse/Detail.aspx?p=33E5A63F3E42AB74B83DD58ABE7089BD So either his team never intended to take part in Tokyo, or they didn't change the nationality because they never anticipated a reallocation coming. I kind of hope it's the former... @hckošice
  23. Nominated entries are out. This includes all reserves, but is pretty final. Looks like Belarus withdrew from dressage and got replaced by Estonia! This means Slovakia either declined or is not eligible, I will try to get some info. Ireland situation is still not resolved. Either FEI is giving them space to enter a team, or they are considering whether to give them a reallocation. There is no info whether Belgium can actually enter one or three riders at this point.
