Sad news. Through she was quite late to be going to Japan with the Skeet being on Monday. Suprised they was no pre camp for Shooters - plenty of athletes not competing till later are already in Japan if not yet in the village. With how high the cases are in the UK they will be quite a few more from the UK testing positive either before departure or shortly after arrival in Japan I sadly suspect. She was tested several times and all were positive so no false test issues.

Surely it’s weather conditions. Speed skating can’t really be held safely if it’s snowing or raining as they competing. So an outdoor venue is Leon to the weather playing havoc with the schedule. An outdoor swimming pool in LA is less risky as Swimming can happen in light rain and LA is rather dry in the Summer.

Not close enough to judged to be a close contact. Covid spread within sport teams are a bit unpredictable. Sometimes an entire team catches it other times hardly anyone else seems to catch it when a member tests positive. Let’s hope her vaccine works as well ( She is believed to have been vaccinated).
