    That wasn't the greatest final by any means but at least Lőrincz scored one point from action and it wasn't a 1-1. There are few Hungarian athletes who deserved an Olympic gold as much as Tamás Lőrincz, he won literally everything in his career except this one. Finally a Hungarian gold in wrestling after 15 years.

    I guess this Japanese wrestler is even more dangerous than what I thought when he wrestled Lőrincz.

    Another nerve wrecking match, the Dutch didn't give this win easily. After two terrible matches the girls played well and what a surprise, when we play well we can win. Now, please, for the love of God, not another 4th place.

    I am not sure when was the last time we had two wrestlers in the finals, I hope at least one of the Lőrincz brothers will win.

    Oh, I thought that all team events have this (pursuit) progression system: Progression: The winners of heats 3 and 4 in the First Round ride the final for the gold and silver medals. The remaining six teams will be ranked by their times in the First Round and will be paired as follows: The two fastest teams ride the final for the bronze medal. The next two fastest teams ride the final for 5th and 6th places. The last two teams ride the final for 7th and 8th places.

    I haven't been following track cycling, has the progression system of team events always been so (unnecessarily?) complicated?

    The results of Berecz at the Olympic Games 2008: 29 2012: 21 2016: 12 2020: 2 I am not sure when was the last time I have seen such a consistent improvement from Olympic cycle to Olympic cycle until they became an Olympic medalist. And this is in a sport where we are severely handicapped compared to other countries (even if we obviously have one big lake).

    Damn, I doubt that we will ever get another chance like this to win a gold in sailing, but still, first medal since 1980, amazing medal race from Berecz.

    3/4 most likely in the bag for , K4 is the only event where we can maybe beat them. And by them I obviously mean Carrington.

    Varga must be one of the youngest Olympic medalists ever in Canoeing, he's only 21 years old. Kopasz winning this is not a surprise, but I didn't expect Varga to pull this off, even Kopasz wasn't this talented at such a young age.

    ICF believes that people are bored by longer distances. Which is bullshit, this sport should be about endurance, 1000m should be the standard distance like 2000m in rowing.

    Goodbye women's K1 200, you were never kind to us (Hungarians), but at least you gave the Canoeing community this big achievement from Carrington.

    Well, so far we are the only ones benefitting from the two boat per NOC rule, maybe will also qualify two boats in one or two male events later.

    That will be a close final between and with maybe or as spoilers. The good news for us in K4 is that the 2nd K2 boat is much stronger than the 2nd K2 boat.

    It probably looks ridiculous that I am complaining after the 1-2, but that start was quite bad for both of our boats, I hope they won't repeat that part in the final. And wow, is out.

    We sure are lucky with this two boats per NOC rule in K1 1000m, we weren't in medal contention for half of a century, this is pretty much the first time ever for us that we have two strong athletes in this events.

    The C2 canoers must be "delighted" that they have to race this SF right before the final just to eliminate one boat.
