  1. I have never seen someone being as above the rest of the field in Canoe Sprint as Carrington is, she's even more dominant than Kozák was in Rio, I will be really surprised if she doesn't win today. I don't feel good about Kozák's medal on the other hand, it's going to be a hard fight for the podium, hopefully one of our girls will finish in the Top3.
  2. No in the K1 500 final, another disappointment for them after missing out on the K2 medal, the bad signs are piling up for them for K4.
  3. btw, our famous thermal waters helped this time, Rasovszky said that the heat of the water here wasn't that bad after he prepared in even warmer waters at Hévíz.
  4. A lot can be decided today, if we mess up the fencing, it will be incredibly hard to win a medal. Hopefully it will go like at the World Cup and WCh this year where Marosi and Gulyás fenced well.
  5. I was so worried for most of the race that we will get another 4th place, finally the 3rd medal for us swimming, well done, Kristóf. And an amazing race from Wellbrock, he was unbeatable today.
  6. This didn't go the way I expected it, surprisingly one sided by the end of the match. The boys played their absolute best when it mattered the most and we have avoided the third consecutive elimination in the QFs. If we can repeat this form for one or two more matches, we can win our first medal since 2008.
  7. I think Nagy wasn't prepared for the quota reallocation and already kinda retired when he got the news, that's why he was even weaker than at the ECh. Still, 6 successful attempts, a nice way to end a career.
  8. Norway is really lucky that they had their worst match against us because against many teams this could have been game over for them. Our girls did well but they are not on even close to being on the same level as the top teams, especially our substitutes. The moment the Hungarian coach gave a bit of rest for our best players in the 1st half the Hungarian team immediately collapsed, so there wasn't any rest in the 2nd half, which meant that we had no energy left for the end.
  9. I have looked it up, the 2000 Olympic Games was our worst performance in athletics where our best results were two 7th places. Unless Krizsán saves this somehow, which I doubt, this is going to be our worst Olympic Games ever in athletics. We were never strong in this sport, but the current state of Hungarian athletics is unacceptable, especially knowing how much the Hungarian Federation was promising that we will see improvements over time and we are spending a LOT of money on the 2023 WCh.
  10. Yeah... the 100 hurdles wasn't a fluke, another disappointment in high jump. Krizsán isn't in top form, just like literally every Hungarian in athletics.
  11. And that's a bad start from Krizsán. I guess that's it for Hungarian athletics at these Games in terms of medal chances, terrible Games for us in this sport, just two years before we will host the World Championships...
  12. Now that's a surprise, Heath messed up his heat and will have to race in the QF.
  13. I have no idea what to expect from Krizsán in heptathlon, she missed the 2019 Worlds when she was in a similar situation and before that she wasn't capable of maybe even fighting for the medal. Hopefully she can come close to repeating her results in Götzis.
  14. Now that we are up to 10 on that 4th place counter here is the comparison of bronze and 4th* places. (Bronze/4th*) 21/23 13/15 7/14 17/13 16/12 15/11 9/11 7/11 11/10 8/10 3/10 Oh God why... By far the worst ratio among the top countries in the 4th* place counter. We would have 2 more bronze medals if we would tie this worst ratio with .
  15. Yeah, she was even weaker than expected. For a swimmer of her caliber she really only had one good Games, Rio, both London and Tokyo are disappointments. We are so cursed with events involving swimming that I wouldn't be surprised if Rasovszky also finishes 4th tomorrow and then the women's water polo team will also miss their medal chance for the 4th time just to add insult to injury.
  16. We now have 4 4th places in swimming from 4 different swimmers, and only 2 medals, both are from Milák.
  17. Our swimmers are cursed to just miss out on the medal at these Games, another 4th place.
  18. I just had to say this and now Beck leads the race.
  19. Olasz is doing a great job so far, maybe Beck is beatable, the rest who is ahead of her now... not sure. Maybe the Americans, Cunha, Xin Xin and van Rouwendaal will fight for the medals.
  20. I have learned my lesson after Vas in mountain bike: never trust the live timing when someone "disappears".
  21. This pace might "kill" a couple of swimmers in these conditions.
  22. Don't worry Polish friends, we can cry together when/if we get eliminated in the men's water polo QF for the 3rd Games in a row.
  23. Group A is on the brink of total elimination in the QFs.
  24. Well, that was indeed a Super Tuesday for us, 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze, plus Viktor Lőrincz secured the next wrestling medal/final and the women's water polo team won their QF.
  25. That was a big mistake from Szőke, thankfully he will likely get another chance at some point because he's still young.
