  4. If anything I think most modern athletes are over-trained rather than under-trained. There’s a lot of slack.

  7. This is my new favourite sport! https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=jelle's+marble+runs And the great thing is the competitors have a lot more personality than your average Norwegian winter sports athlete.
  8. Have just found out that sumo is still going! http://sumo.or.jp/En/ No idea where to get coverage though.
  9. So get another year in the top division!b
  10. You can watch the Paris-Roubaix, though. The 1976 Paris-Roubaix. Classic docco.
  11. Can’t they just let the horses practise on their own?
  12. Excavated the men’s cross-country relay from Lahti from the depths of my hard drive. Normally the most boring event on the calendar, but today a rare treat, And, whaddaya know, turned out to be an epic great race!
  13. Snooker World Championships in May also postponed. OK we are all going to argue whether it’s a sport.
  14. I remember many years ago when rugby was still supposedly amateur the captain of Scotland “worked” for a brewery. No prizes for guessing which brand the Scottish team were always photographed drinking in the dressing room after a win.
  15. I commented back during the Worlds at her skill in working the Red Bull can into camera shot; this is the reward. Take note, youngsters, practice during the off-season.
  16. Good that Chinese-Italian relations are going to be close, they have brought so many benefits lately.
  17. What they all have in common is that the defending team always puts so many players on the line that they get in the way of the goalie.
  18. Countries are considered to be Francophone if, during the 19th Century, the aristocracy sent their children to French speaking schools. See also Poland, Russia, Brazil, Egypt etc.
  19. Seemingly major sport in Australia continues behind closed doors at least for this weekend https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8124651/Desperate-punters-start-betting-WEATHER-Australia-worldwide-sporting-codes-shut-down.html
  20. But the rules of Olympic Football mean that it is mostly an U-23 competition for the men.
  21. Anyway, they have cancelled the rest of it!
  22. Where are these posted? Only seen the NC ones. For athletics fans there is a goldmine of NCAA regional finals from the Golden Age of late February 2020 back here. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbuK6UsIyA8NOWvUbj-rCfw
  23. FIS Nordic Combined Channel on YouTube
  24. You think that’s bad, I was watching the NC Continental Cup finals.....weirdest commentary you will ever hear, I recommend it. (Weirder even than the joint Scots Gaelic/English commemtaries we sometimes get here).
  25. We have a live non-League football match on in England. Instead of spreading themselves evenly amidst the vast tracts of empty spaces, the fans ignore all expert advice & herd together like cows behind the goal & near the snackbar. Oh well, we survived the Blitz, we will survive this.
