  1. British team. We’ve had seven medals in the last five Olympics, including three consecutive Women’s Golds, but it’s hard to see one this time, Women Brogan Crowley Laura Deas Men Matt Weston Marcus Wyatt
  2. Seems a bit odd when people are regularly drafted into CC relay teams from biathlon, which is a completely different federation.
  3. Same is true in many events where there are more men than women on the circuit - ski jumping, ski & board cross, slopestyle etc etc.
  4. The PLA is going to be busy, then.
  5. Been watching 20+ years, don’t remember ever seeing such a pile-up before.
  6. Incredible race! Incidentally, no crowds at anything in at the moment - but suddenly, there will be 1000 spectators at Kitzbuhel next week. Celebrities only, of course.
  7. Just so everyone’s clear Djokovic is not being deported because he is a health risk. If he was a health risk it would be grossly irresponsible to take him to the airport & put him on a plane. He is being deported because he is a political risk to the Australian government. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-australia-60001871
  8. I would say quite likely. Generally, NZ are tight with their budgetting. Don’t know if they are in the habit of sending young hopefuls just for the experience.
  9. Felt sorry for Ilves: so close to what must have been Estonia’s first WC win in any winter Olympic event for a long time. (Of course, someone is going to come back & say “How can you ignore Estonia’s dominance of Team Moguls?” or whatever).
  10. Kriechmayer benefits from his practice run yesterday.
  11. Full-length Wengen!
  12. Goggia skis down to the finish, just not so fast.
  13. Oi oi Goggia in a big high speed crash. Looks like she’s walking away.
  14. If you can rustle up a few plane tickets for the Ministry of Sports you get a place.
  15. Tells me some guy has incredible Excel skills.
  16. Yeah, ski speed means that she can make up a a lot of places on the final lap.
  17. Hanna Sola staring at a complete disaster: just about recovers.
  18. Stina Nilsson very respectable relay leg.
  19. The Hungarians are allowed to keep it: law of salvage.
  20. Hang on a sec, didn’t we see that very same train just five minutes ago? Are Swiss Railways just shunting empty carriages between the two nearest stations? Kilde gets there!
  21. Wengen start delayed to clear the broken remains of the first fore-runner from the course. Weather etc look fine. Swiss Narrow-Gauge railways preparing for their biggest day of the year. F2 also crashes.
  22. First road racing of the year this weekend - National Champs live on ES Player & GCN in the small hours of the morning.
  23. Yeah, the loss of population was very noticeable last week when you ran out of people to screw slalom poles into the ground, splash salt water on the snow etc.
  24. You have to blame the Canadian Ski Federation for not properly evaluating the importance of the Cap Vert Nationals, though. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10400943/British-born-former-DJ-Jamaicas-Alpine-skier-Winter-Olympics.html
  25. The Queen leaves Prince Andrew alone in a room with a bottle of whisky & a loaded revolver. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10399083/Veterans-demand-Queen-strips-Andrew-military-honours.html#comments
