kungshamra71 got a reaction from konig in Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2023
It’s even “worse”, it’s her two brothers AND her father
(Context: they’re singing “with” her because she died in an car accident some years ago and left this unfinished song/videoclip)

With a few days for the tournament, a few "fun facts" of the songs:
: What the hell is that "star face" of the 1:23 minutes?
: What a bad paint quality has that guy, luky for him, her girlfriend is a magician!
: Its probably has the "fakest" tear of all times.
: an indian singer, singing in english in Paris.........thats a big mess than the song of
indonesian yetis.....ok, thats not common at all.
Its good to see the granddaugther of the Cicciolina continuing related with art.
The history of the lithuanian Rapunzel who trys to scape dancing in water......
Its impresive of that couple to continue with their love for so many years......but it s a lot more impresive to have a hippie van in that state for so many years , even with a floppy drive working perfectly!!
i dont speak norwegian but i can say with security that is the history of a guy who cant sleep for a women ghost, who always say the same phrase.
am i the only one who relate the song with Disney?, like a polish Disney song in a football stadium.
The music clip show us the beauty of the portuguese womans but......you must know, they are guarded by her brothers, 3 in this time!!.
In the 1:16 minute we can see Rasputin scaping from a mission in Ukraine, using the flute to hypnotize people and make easier the scape.
If you got here, thanks to read my bad jokes

MURCIA FLAMINGOS
Murcia is a city located in southeastern Spain and is the capital of the Murcia Region. The city has a long and rich history dating back to the Neolithic era, with evidence of human settlements in the area since prehistoric times. Over the centuries, Murcia has been inhabited by various cultures, including the Iberians, Romans, Visigoths, Moors, and Christians.
During the Roman period, Murcia was known as "Mursiya" and was an important city for the production of agricultural products such as wine and olive oil. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the city was ruled by the Visigoths before falling to the Moors in the 8th century.
Under the Moors, Murcia flourished and became a center of agriculture, trade, and culture. The famous "huerta," a fertile plain that surrounds the city, was developed during this time and is still an important agricultural area today. The Moors also built many of the city's notable landmarks, such as the Alcázar and the Puente Viejo (Old Bridge).
In 1243, Murcia was conquered by the Christian King Ferdinand III of Castile and became part of the Kingdom of Castile. The city continued to thrive under Christian rule, with the construction of important buildings such as the Cathedral of Murcia and the University of Murcia.
La Manga del Mar Menor is a narrow strip of land that separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon located in the Murcia Region. The strip is approximately 21 kilometers long and varies in width from 100 meters to 1.5 kilometers.
La Manga is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, clear blue waters, and mild climate. The area is also popular among water sports enthusiasts, with activities such as windsurfing, kiteboarding, and sailing.
The development of La Manga as a tourist destination began in the 1960s, with the construction of hotels, apartments, and other tourist infrastructure. Today, the area is a bustling tourist hub with a wide range of accommodation options, restaurants, bars, and other amenities, but still retains much of its natural beauty, with several protected areas and nature reserves in the surrounding areas.
Murcia is home to several important wetland areas, including the Salinas de San Pedro, which is a protected area and a designated Ramsar site. This area is home to a large population of greater flamingos, which are a common sight in the salt flats and lagoons.
Greater flamingos are large, pink wading birds that are known for their distinctive beaks and long, slender legs. They are found in many parts of the world, but the population in Murcia is one of the largest in Europe.

Caldero: A rice dish made with fish and served with a rich broth, typically prepared in a cauldron over an open fire. TOLEDO EAGLES
Toledo is a historic city in central Spain, located on a rocky hill overlooking the Tagus River. It has been inhabited since Roman times and has a rich cultural and architectural heritage that reflects its diverse history.
During the Visigothic period, Toledo was the capital of the Kingdom of the Visigoths and an important cultural and religious center. In the 8th century, it was conquered by the Moors and became a center of Muslim culture and learning.
In 1085, Toledo was captured by King Alfonso VI of Castile, and it became a Christian city once again. Over the centuries, it became an important political, religious, and cultural center, with a thriving Jewish community and a flourishing arts scene.
Toledo is known for its stunning architecture, including:
The Alcázar: A fortress that has been used as a palace, a military academy, and a museum. Cathedral of Toledo: A Gothic masterpiece that is one of the most important religious buildings in Spain Puente de San Martín: A medieval bridge that spans the Tagus River.
Toledo is also famous for its artistic heritage, particularly its production of damascene metalwork, which involves inlaying gold and silver into iron or steel to create intricate designs. The city's museums and galleries showcase the work of both local and international artists, and the streets are lined with workshops and boutiques selling everything from ceramics to textiles.
Today, Toledo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination
TYPICAL FOOD:
Toledo is famous for its traditional cuisine, which features a blend of influences from Christian, Jewish, and Muslim cultures. Here are some typical dishes you might find in Toledo:

To me it always seemed kind of as if Portugal were the Spanish little brother haha
and I never forget the Spanish newspaper cover when Portugal won the Euro ❤️
(of course it was also due to Ronaldo and the newspaper is a madrid one, but still)
btw, that first sentence on the top of the cover has a totally different meaning in Portuguese 😅 (don’t look it up on Google during your work time! Haha)

Yeah, that's probably true, and in some ways it makes sense. I think that here the most "hated" countries are France and Great Britain because of historical reasons, but people tend to like (or at least have a neutral opinion) of Portugal, which is probably the second most liked European country, just after Italy.

Hola Totallympics!
Welcome to the Draw for the
Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2023
With less than a week before the event begins, I have once more the pleasure to help with the draw of this edition hosted by our fantastic organizer @Cobi.
As per usual, the draw is to be conducted by revealing the contents behind two panels, with the first one some fine paintings of Spanish artists hiding the ordinal number that will determine the time slot for the juries to reveal their votes.
The second panel shows some of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites and cultural patrimony of the host country, which in turn conceal the flag of each national jury, thus letting us know the exact place to cast the vote and will also assign the contests to one of the nine teams for the Team competition, which in this edition are:
Teams Voting Positions TOLEDO EAGLES 1 11 20 30 PAMPLONA BULLS 2 12 21 31 MURCIA FLAMINGOS 3 13 22 32 BARCELONA DRAGONS 4 10 14 23 33 ZARAGOZA STORKS 5 15 24 34 MADRID BEARS 6 16 25 29 35 GRANADA LYNXES 7 17 26 36 MALLORCA DOLPHINS 8 18 27 37 VALENCIA TORTOISES 9 19 28 38 As we continue in a few moments, let me hear from my volunteers.
Are you there: @Cinnamon Bun @hckošice @heywoodu?

Nice! I have family from Granollers (in Catalunya) and spent basically all summers from my childhood and teen years there (thus my preference for that region :-) ), I have so many good memories from the city festivals! (Festa major)

Voted!
This was a difficult one because i find most of the songs ok but not especially good so it was hard to choose which would get more points.
BUT i have to say that my 12 is a big one and i can not see any other song winning but that one, is so addictive!!

I don't know Maan's Stiekem, to be honest. Maybe if I hear it

I don’t know if it is because my musical taste already became too Dutchy or it’s just a bad year but I can’t find any Portuguese song I actually like from last year.
There are some nice ones but it’s mostly due to lyrics so I don’t think they’re worth sharing.
So I’ve decided to do something that might be unique (maybe?) which is send a music where the author is not alive anymore.
This is a song from Sara Carreira, who actually participated in a TISC some years ago, but that died in 2020 in a car crash with only 21 years old.
This song was composed originally by her but was never released while she was alive, until this last year, where some parts that were not finished yet were added by three other singers: her two oldest brothers and her dad.
I choose this song as it is sad and beautiful at the same time.

“Sevilla tiene un color especial!”
por supuesto Portugal is in 🇵🇹
Spain is probably the nation I’ve visited the most during my life (have family there and spent all my summers there during my childhood and teenage years) so I can’t wait to “visit” it yet another time
as for the contest it’s always a bit difficult for me the anual edition (due to not be living in Portugal for 6 years now) but I’ll find something out I’m sure
