  1. But of coures one good jump and Diaz will be in podium zone.
  2. 4... For now Dallavalle ok, but Diaz under expectations.
  3. He still for bronze fight, but nothing more.
  4. Svk- I hope for that,
  5. Andy Diaz, whats going on?
  6. Silver on football also was a big surprise. Personally, I don't remember Barcelona 1992- I was 5 years old. My first Olympics as a real spectator were in 1996 and the first live sporting event I ever watched in TV was the 1994 World Cup final: Italy-Brazil. Of course, I didn't understand any of it, but I think I wished it had gone to penalties. But already in 1995/1996, I started passionately watching football on TV and playing it, which helped me at school, because I quickly went from being the class loser to being the best scorer and overall top player, so I can only be grateful to sport for that.
  7. I think that, Barcelona 1992 was a very good edition for Poland, but there weren't many gold medals. I would like to regularly win as many medals (just 20) now as I did back then. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poland_at_the_1992_Summer_Olympics
  8. Put yourself in Poland's shoes in the early 1990s: a poor country, an uncertain international situation, inflation probably over 100% before Balcerowicz reform, zero good roads, zero modern infrastructure etc., nothing. The main goal was joining NATO and the EU, deep reforms and infrastructure construction, not prosecution in former sports stars from the communist era, who enjoyed the recognition and respect of most of public society at tha time. So, I understand that, but I'm not going to write, that everything in sports during the PRL era was okay, because it wasn't. There's simply no point in messing with it anymore, that's all. Therefore, it would be best if all those old, questionable records were broken already, which is why I regret that Koch record still stands. The 1930s are such distant history that there is probably no point in writing about it, for example, there is no point in writing now about Italy's two World Cup titles in football during the Mussolini era, etc., and how they were won.
  9. In my opinion, if Szewinska was already a respected and influential figure in a free Poland after 1989 and there was a cult of her successes, then no politician, official, fan, etc., even an anti-communist one, was crazy enough to accuse her at the time, as it would have been suicidal. I think this was the case in all countries from east camp, but I'm writing about Szewinska because I lived in Poland in that time at the time and know what it was like. I can only speculate about the Czech Republic or Bulgaria.
  10. Okay, but look at the appearance of Szewinska, Koch and Kratochwilova... There are photos, videos on YouTube, etc. I think there's no need to prove anything here.
  11. Japan come to power again
  12. What they write about match vs Italy?
  13. In Poland in the 1990s was a cult of Szewinska, but then again, Koch and other DDR athletes was considered a dopper Funny thing. I wonder how they talk about it in Germany now?
  14. I was born and lived in Poland until 2000, where Szewinska was a cult figure in my youth time, yet I knew with 100% certainty that she wasn't clean- no one was then. It's just that no one said it out loud back then and Szewinska was president of the Polish Athletics Association for many years.
  15. Doping + Canberra (the right altitude). Koch had been preparing for this race for many days and the location was no accident. If the American were to choose a one race now, at a location at a good altitude, the record would be broke for sure.
  16. Szewinska, Koch and Kratochwilova (Pol, DDR, Czechoslovakia) :P They were all on doping - that's clear.
  17. I read, that in Italy in recent years, out of every 4 children who join volleyball clubs, 3 are girls and only 1 is a boy. But it's also worth noting that more men are go to football, while volleyball is still the number one team sport for women in our country for many years.
  18. In Italy, women's volleyball recently has also been dominating the media, thanks to the successes of Egonu and co. For example: Orro is much more well-known than Giannelli or Michieletto. I was hoping this would be better for us, as Italy prefers to play as a dark horse rather than a favorite. Right now, the men's team is practically nonexistent in the media compared to the girls.
  19. I just read in Polish sources that Lucarelli supposedly shouldn't play in the NT this summer because he's seriously injured. Do you know anything about this?
  20. The 1950s and 1960s were their golden age - oil and gas deposits were discovered there, making them the richest country in South America, but they became too dependent on this and the economy was unstable. Adding to this was a hopeless political class- thievery, corruption, stupidity another presidents/governments, etc. However, even in they best of times, it was a country where a small elite grew wealthy while the remaining majority remained poor. Over the next decades and the economic colapssed, this phenomenon only deepened. Thanks to this, the left-wing populist Chávez came to power in 1998, gaining significant support among this poor segment of the population. The situation stabilized for a some times, but the introduction of Cuba- socialist model was not to be a long-term success. After Chávez's death in 2012, his former driver- Maduro, came to power, who, unlike like his mentor, finished game with the elections, dissolved parliament and began ruling by decree. This situation is similar to this day. This is what I know from the media and the internet. But of course I don't live there and I don't know everything, and there's probably no one here from Venezuela who could tell us more about it (Brazil, Argentina, etc, are different countries).
  21. Tomorrow last chance for medal to Ukraine? Mahuchikh? Levchenko with no chance?
  22. Overall, I think this is probably the worst level since the early 21st century – I don't remember it being this bad. We have only one top-class team- Poland and basically nothing. Brazil used to be the best, but there were still strong others teams: Russia, Italy, USA, Yugoslavia, etc. Now, Poland basically has no one to lose to. I don't think even Brazil 20 years ago was as safe as Poland is now. Some things about Brazil: I believe Rezende must go away, but even he's no magician. The scale of this sport's decline in Brazil over the past 10 years has been demonstrated by the successive junior age groups. I understand that juniors are just juniors, but losses to Kazakhstan, Finland, Korea, Indonesia and similar level rivals are simply shameful for a country with such a tradition as Brazil. Clearly, something is wrong with the system and it's not just a problem with Rezende, or Ze Roberto in the women's. That's why I'm confident about France- they have talented young players and they will became strong, even if they fall today. The same is for Italy and Poland. However, in Brazil, the problem seems to do systemic changes, not only whether Rezende has to leave and be replaced by some X or Y.
  23. W can beat Argentina and Belgium/Fin but we must play for our solid level, just like in summer VNL. With Brazil and France out, probably only Poland is out of our reach, but we must to play better than in the group.
  24. For us there isn`t worse rival than France and Poland, so it's OK But playing like we did even today, we won't be the favorites. As of today here, anyone can beat anyone , except maybe for Poland, who are pretty sure to win gold.
