  1. Equestrian/Racquetball also offer qualification slots. Especially equestrian (only for dressage/jumping, as eventing won't be held there) is concerning as its the only way Brazil can qualify a team outright (unless reallocation happen, which is likely to happen). Brazil has never competed in racquetball at the Pan Am Games, so no big loss there.
  2. Guatemala refused visas for Venezuelan wrestlers who were scheduled to compete at the Youth Olympics qualifier.
  3. These countries should get shooting reallocations (15 nations without a quota). However, I am not clear on the system. Note: USA would have gotten a reallocation, but I don't think they are interested in sending a team in shooting.
  4. Can this thread be moved to the Olympic sub forum?
  5. You need to give events time to grow, look at all the other continental games from their first to last editions. For ex. Pan Am Games 1951:2513 athletes 2015: 6132 athletes
  6. Tomorrow will define the Americas shooting quotas.
  7. It has changed apparently, I am not sure if its a set rule though. Canada wanted to enter both men and women's rugby sevens but chose men's field hockey because of this rule.
  8. Nope, you can only qualify one team per sport as well.
  9. and possibly literally as well if Iran has anything to do with it
  10. won the tournament the day before, but the qualifiers were held today and he missed out
  11. Hillary Caldwell, swimmer, bronze medalist in Rio
  12. These times are insane, but what can you do when they reduce your quotas.
  13. Greco Roman quotas for 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima (after first qualification event, the Pan Am Championships, where the top 3 qualified) 6 2 2 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1

  15. Its a problem in a lot of countries you would expect not to have these issues.
  16. Yea I am surprised at that too. However, you would think there is financial gain to be moving to Hungary.
  17. I believe for the Youth Olympics, there are travel grants given.
  18. This is insane. A random draw decides who gets a third qualifier.
