  1. Archery QUOTAS Women's Recurve: (x2) (x2) (x2) (x2) (x2) Women's Compound: Men's Recurve: (x2) (x2) (x2) (x2) (x2) Men's Compound:
  2. Disrespectful and cruel for junior athletes. So they will send a token delegation of 30-40 people?
  3. So according to my quick count are qualified for the Olympics, last place will be decided between & , the later needing a medal to do so. For the Qualification tournament, & are qualified, joined by either the Norwegians or the Chinese. And in the Pre Qualification tournament we’ll have: from 2024/2025 Worlds from 2024/2025 Europe Division A from 2024/2025 Pan Continental Division A
  4. For the first time in my rather brief memory, a Mexican road cyclist is having some success. Isaac del Toro won the Milano-Torino classic a few days ago, which is always excellent news. The bad ones? The race jury decided to fine him because he raced the last part of the course with his maillot open, "damaging the sport's image" according to the reports in Mexico's media.
  5. FIELD HOCKEY QUOTAS Women's: (H) Men's: (H)
  6. I was hoping each candidate would battle to death with the 1976 gold medallst, in fencing of course. IMO, none of them gives a shit about sports (and Coe has my particular hatred) but let’s expect the least “bad” wins, or at least someone who doesn’t want to cut every event down to 8 starters and bring in “e-sports”
  7. The event was already contested at 2023 Pan American Games, first as a replacement event for M8+ & W8+ due to the lack of contestants in both events, then alogside them. I agree, Eights and Lightweights are looking like candidates to be dropped from the program, the first due to lack of emerging crews, the second cause it makes no difference other than giving continental berths to look more “universal”
  8. As some of you pointed out, there are some alternatives to one person hosting in a "real" venue. Before @Cobi volunteered, I was thinking maybe we could use his template to collect the votes in a spreadsheet hosted in the cloud. Then 2-3 could verify validate the forms are complete (including reserves), and said persons (or another volunteers) could also help with trnasforming the votes into templates/scoreboards. I myself could research if there's a somewhat easy form to make/transform the info into GIF or dinamic templates; in any case I also volunteer to help. As @Sindo said, we should look for the bright part. Maybe this could be the start of a new stage for TISC.
  9. Yolanda Ramírez (90 y/o), tennis player. 1958 women's doubles French Open Champion (alongside Rosa Maria Reyes who died a year ago), two times singles finalist in the same tournament (1960, 1961) and winner of another 29 singles and 3 doubles titles. 3 times champion in mixed doubles at the PanAm Games (1955-1963), 3 times silver medalist in singles (1955-1963), one gold and one bronze in women's doubles (1959-1963)
  10. I couldn’t believe when I read it, but some good news for the U-18 I hope they can maintain Division IIB next year.
  11. Just to tell you Brazil and Mexico appear twice on women foil, & should get the other spots. Also I believe I read on qualification manual that athletes can’t win more than one quota. So should either get epée or foil, as both were obtained by Schembri.
  12. I hope she’s feeling better today and that tomorrow she can return to compete.
  13. She was indeed, I’m glad for her as she was close four years ago and promised to do her best next time which she did. Not surprised about the number of Mexicans. After the 2018 Winter Games, cross country as a discipline grew the number of skiers and fans.
  14. Yes, we currently have one woman and one man quota in Alpine, but I think they only be given official status if they keep their FIS Points until the end of qualification period, while now we have a man and woman already achieving the basic quotas in cross country. Edit: although they too need to keep their FIS points under 350.00 (achievable, not certain).
  15. The qualification document list the qualification races as a direct way to achieve the basic quota, so maybe this time they will take the points directly from the race.
  16. will attempt to return to the Winter Olympics, with a male competitor trying to achieve the requirements tomorrow.
  17. And Taiwan makes it to the tournament.
  18. Nicaragua qualifies Another humiliation for host Taiwan, who still gets to play Spain for the other ticket.
  19. Do you think Taiwan can beat Nicaragua?
  20. You mean the Caribbean Spanish Empire?
  21. And suddenly your NOC finishes day 1 in third place in the medal table I see what you did there
