  1. And Chile does it in volleyball. Congratulations to them. Mexico was in the "easier" group and should have won against both USA's "C" team and Chile, but were too overconfident and showed poor skills in those two games. Now let's hope they can at least beat Peru.
  2. 33, just like Rommel Pacheco. They have been competing at senior level for the past 16 years. However, I really dislike her. She's part of a scam on public funds that affect most other Mexican athletes, in which our head of sport, former world champion Guevara, has robbed more in the past 8 months, that the past national sports director did in his four years tenure (and that was a lot).
  3. In fifteen minutes, the start of the men's 10m platform synchro. Ideally, Mexico has 3 different couples that could win this event; this time however, this time they're represented by "made-up" couple, just to ensure that an athlete (García, cough) would be competing at the Games. This should open the competition, so Canada's Riendau & Zsombor-Murray or USA's Bramley/Jonhson could steal the show from them,, if they get their act together. The rest of the field could only challenge for a bronze if any of the above fails badly. Curiously the Dominican Republic will compete with a "loan" from Mexico, Jonathan Ruvalcaba, who in Toronto finished in fourth along García, in another made up team.
  4. I'm not. Women's diving in Mexico has returned to its past, with average divers, but no one capable of challenging top contenders. Plus corruption in the federation, summed with idiotic qualification system for Pan Am, seriously ruined our chances in the rest of the events.
  5. Chile one set away from going into semifinals in men's volleyball
  6. For future reference, this thread is devoted to diving events discussion
  7. And Sarah Bacon wins gold Great final dive from her.
  8. Imo Espinosa was overscored in her second dive, but now has been somewhat (but unfairly) compensated. Bacon was also overscored in round 3, while at least some justice was done to Dolores Hernández.
  9. Marca Claro with a vpn.
  10. Menezes Chile loses a "secure" gold.
  11. Me too, just like Paraguay. I think they should be favorites in singles and doubles, but in team's is anyone's game.
  12. It is in men's, but we have the recordwoman of all times in this sport, Paola Longoria. The main rivals will come from Argentina and the US. In men's, Mexican and US players could upset Bolivia. Also Costa Rica has chances to medal in male events.
  13. Mauricio Fiol , who lost the 200m butterfly silver medal due to doping, gets caught again for using the same substance (stanozolol) Note(in spanish)
  14. And racquetball
  15. Medal for Paraguay
  16. It will be the second Pan American medal for both in this event... although Quiroz won it 2011 and Escobar in 2015.
  17. It's karma for Mexican gymnasts now... both with many errors in their last Pan Am Games. Saddest thing there is no young competitor close to what both, Galindo and Díaz, achieved in their time.
  18. Well, I'm sorry about that. I won't comment further.
  19. I know, and tomorrow they may take another one in women's pistol
  20. Mexico into handball semi finals We'll end up in 4th, but this a young team. Probably next time they could challenge for the medal.
  21. Wow Fainberg So young, yet she looks very severe. Probably the music selection had some part in it, but she's a rising star.
  22. What's the record in that field?
  23. Wonder Natalia. I think she can upset Feeley and aim for an all around medal... in fact Uchida and Fainberg also have a chance of doing that. Now it was Ruth Castillo's swan song, "My way"... the oldest competitive gymnast in the world... to bad a mistake will mostly take her chances of getting in the final.
  24. It also happened yesterday in diving. Seems organizers forgot some "minor" details. Now, Gaudio's turn
