  1. Whilst I agree with your analysis, we seem to be in disagreement with the font of all knowledge that is Wikipedia who say it is and who get the continental quotas.
  2. With getting quota here, aren't there now 14 quotas available here? - so Jungblut would also qualify
  3. Qualifying position for men's team sprint: With absent, move to the top of the rankings and it is going to be nip and tuck to decide which country will finish at the top of the rankings. emerging as real contender for the bronze medal as they move up the ranking - they are currently in 4th place but will move ahead of GB when the continental champs take place. The main focus going forward is likely to be the battle between and for the final spot. At the moment, Poland is currently ahead but this will likely be reversed when the continental championships take place. If we factor in their likely continental points, then Canada would be ahead by just 45 points. I don't think that Canada will be able to replicate their 4th place finish when we get to Milton in April so my best guess is that the advantage is currently with Poland for the last quota, but they will need to send their strongest team to both Hong Kong and Milton to give them their best chance.
  4. With the 1st of 3 Nations Cups complete, I've had a chance to run the numbers and the current race for qualifying in the men's team pursuit looks like this: should move up to 5th place this week however it will be temporary as both and have their continental championships in hand and both are likely to pick up additional 900 points there. The maximum that GB can now score is 7,793 which means that they cannot catch , , or . It is also unlikely that they will finish ahead of and so at the moment, I would say that they will probably end the ranking period in 7th place.
  5. It wasn't a high scoring event, but it wasn't that far out of sync from previous events when you take into account the fact that there were no athletes taking part. In the comparable event from 2019, the highest non-Chinese diver scored 262 and took silver. It looks like a lot of the stronger divers have elected to prioritise the 3m instead.
  6. Great result for but Daley did look a little rusty in his individual 10m dive. Only to be expected though at what I think is his first international competition since Tokyo.
  7. Did Australia go to the wrong step of the podium during the medal ceremony for team event? I always assumed that the bronze medalists were on the on right hand side with silver medalists on the left hand side.
  8. Equipment failure for in final of women's team sprint but even if that hadn't happened, have looked great across all 3 rounds and got quicker each time they took to the track.
  9. take the win in women's team pursuit. left themselves with just too much to down in the last few laps.
  10. Team sprint 1st rounds completed and in the absence of Germany, women looking good for gold although posted their fastest time in a couple of years so GB can't take it for granted. GB's men's sprint squad continue to be the weak link in the squad - although they won their heat, they were barely any quicker than they were in qualifying and were the only winning team that failed to break the 43 second barrier.
  11. Very quick back of a fag packet calculation and I am tired so this could be wrong..... If win the men's team pursuit final then I think they would move up into 5th place in the Olympic rankings overtaking not only , but also and . They'd also be ahead of , but they still have their continental championship to come in the next few weeks so it would be temporary.
  12. men team pursuit into gold final with time of 3:48.996 - just under a second ahead of . It's a good time without being great - at world champs last year it would have got them into the bronze medal match-up - but you have to think they still have more in the tank for the final. Really surprised by - it just hasn't clicked for them today despite have Ganna in the squad and after a relatively poor qualifying, they came off second best against so will race for bronze. Think all GB cycling fans can breathe sigh of relief safe in the knowledge that the pursuit squad are very much back in a qualifying spot for Paris.
  13. GB men up against New Zealand in the 1st round of the men's team pursuit with 3 of the 4 NZL riders being on the team in Glasgow when they won the bronze medal. It may not be the strongest field overall, but we should still get some pretty good indications of who is going to be in the mix for medals when it comes to Paris.
  14. Women's team pursuit finals - v for gold. New Zealand posting fastest time at 4:09.259 compared to 4:11.438 for GB. Bronze final should be v with both teams riding a 4:15.
  15. Yep - same squad that took bronze at Europeans and yeah they are safe for the quota but think they would have been hoping for a better ride given their recent form.
  16. Disappointing run for women pursuit team after their great performance at Europeans. They finish 3.444 seconds behind in their 1st round match-up.
  17. Looks like Poland are up against Japan in the 1st round - that's a winnable match up for Poland if they can show the form that they had in the Europeans.
  18. If it was a technical issue they would have been entitled to restart. If it was rider error then they wouldn't get restart and I would have thought they would have still ridden through the full distance because with their quality, they probably could still have done enough to get into top 8. It's bloody annoying not having any video or text commentary to see what the hell is going on
  19. Canada likely to fail to make it through to round 1 so at least at this event, Poland will outscore them.
  20. It is going to be interesting to see how 's men get on in the team sprint. They just missed out on bronze medal in Glasgow to and then were beaten for bronze at the Europeans by . Hopefully with a weaker field, they can get their act together and get back on the podium in Adelaide.
  21. The reports are showing as DSQ so pretty sure that their second rider crossed the line before the first rider had completed their lap. Have a feeling the same thing happened to GB at the London Olympics in 2012.
  22. I don't think so - because they've been recorded as REL I am assuming they have been deemed to have had an illegal change over between the riders.
