  1. Canada win bronze in the mixed team figure skating event to close off their Gangwon 2024 campaign. A couple of disappointing results (Charlie Beatty in freeski slopestyle, our curling teams, and our men’s hockey team) but overall not too bad. I don’t know if anyone here would know, but has Canada’s level in junior curling declined or did we not send our strongest team? @intoronto @Topicmaster1010@james89

  10. through to the gold medal match in mixed doubles curling Besides Canada, I’ve been rooting for all the Danish curlers throughout the Youth Olympics so I’m really pleased. Hopefully they can get their revenge on Great Britain this time.
  11. Mixed feelings on this trade. On one hand, I love Kuzy and don’t want to see him go, but if Tocchet isn’t going to give him any minutes at least he’ll get some on the Flames. Also, we’re trading a whole bunch of our young players/picks, so it’s looking like we’re going all in for a NHL ring. On the other hand, $5.5 million will be cleared in cap space from that trade, which hopefully means that we can resign some other players. Lindholm is Lindholm though (was one of the top trade prospects in the NHL), so no complaints here. Excited to see how he fits into the system. Hopefully this trade doesn’t come back to bite us in the future.
  12. Final day of Gangwon 2024
  13. Caroline Santos has already qualified for Paris through World Rankings. Essentially Taekwondo Canada is pretty much just throwing a free quota away, with two quotas available at the PAQT and the only athlete who is anywhere close to her in the Olympic Rankings is Leslie Soltero. We didn’t even choose our best athlete in women’s 59kg, both Vivian Tranquille and Ashley Orozco are ranked way higher (and have way more international experience) than Kafadar (literally never heard of her) Taekwondo Canada should’ve just selected names from the beginning IMO. At least they got it right on the men’s side
  14. Choked a 3-0 lead in the men’s hockey bronze medal match against Finland (lost 4-5 (0-2)) and a 6-4 lead over Great Britain (lost 6-7, if we had won we would’ve qualified for the quarterfinals) all at the same time. Team sports have been a disaster for us in Gangwon 2024
