    Kyler Murray has announced he wants to be a NFL QB after all. Wonder what numbers he puts at the combine where he finally gets measured too (5'9" here we go). Woman kicker Kareem Hunt has been signed by the Browns (by his old Chiefs GM Dorsey). He still hasn't been suspended but that's to be expected.

    Nobody trains to be a good all-arounder anymore. People train to be elite in one event and they usually combine two to a very good degree and still only the best can be very good in three events (not anyone outside Shiffrin these days). All these short DHs give extra edge to technical skiers already who also profit from a much better shape of the slalom course anyway. Reversing Top 15 for the combined slalom would be the only way to cure this IMO but that hasn't happened.

    @Olympian1010 Okay, since talking Iron Mountain in a biathlon thread makes no sense, I checked back and it turns out they held the Continental Cup there this weekend. The World Cup is set to return on 22nd/23rd February 2020.

    Since the US nordic combined went downhill over the last decade I thought these hills are gonna die like Thunder Bay in Canada? Steamboat Springs is probably still running and I wonder about the Lake Placid Olympic complex? I saw some Continental Cup in Iron Mountain ca. 3-4 years ago but that seemed very odd. World Cup hardly travels outside Europe other than Japan and the second tier goes to USA?

    Well, the alpine skiing rounds are held there before the actual European part starts. It's good that any biathlon competition is held in America even though that's like once every 5 seasons. However ski jumping World Cup is scheduled to return to Iron Mountain in two years time? I thought they demolished that hill ages ago?

    Yeah, Khanty-Mansiysk was usually the coldest venue in first place (sometimes Kontiolahti) and between them & Tyumen it's a rotten location in the middle of Siberian freeze too. Talk about pot calling kettle black...

    All speed events shortened. This first week would have been all but forgotten save for Svindal & Vonn bowing out with medals. And now it's Shiffrin & Hirscher showtime coming up next I just hope this medal doesn't change Vonn's mind again...

    How many of them attended X Games though? Is this a case of Grand Slam vs Olympic gold in tennis? Plus several athletes usually take the post-Olympic season off or X Games actually still rule in this sport?

    Polish media are milking Maliszewska's success and it's almost forgotten her older sister was projected to be a star in first place until a broken leg hijacked her career. Meanwhile Natalia was kicked off the national team in 2016 and stayed in the sport due to devoted people in her club over in Bialystok. Such BS is only possible in Polish sports

    Bowe's winning margin is really impressive! Zbigniew Brodka hints this could be his last international race. He didn't get a special bye from the State Fire Service this season and this probably won't change going forward so he doesn't see how he can continue being an elite skater anymore.

    And Maliszewska clinches the 500m standings with 1 race to go. Now that Kowalczyk has retired from World Cup, Maliszewska gets the most coverage from winter sports' women - even more than the biathletes

    Good thing the combined is gone. Another Super G course bullshit for this event. Siebenhofer probably lost a medal because of this, she did much better than expected in the slalom. This event is so favoring the technical skiers it's broderline criminal. Good riddance and thumbs up for Shiffrin & Hirscher ignoring it. The proper way to die.
