  1. Atle Lie McGrath lasted five seconds and managed to take out the camera man
  2. At this rate Kristoffersen will have to make a chase from 29th after 1st run
  3. The freestyle skiing expansion indicates otherwise. But that's not a bad thing, USA seems to be focused on that so you might leave biathlon alone. Historically this is one sport where USA never had much success which is a blessing in disguise.
  4. Quite a big upset in selctions as Decker Dean isn't one of the three nominated athletes. Kevin Bickner won the internal trials so he was safe but Casey Larson and Patrick Gasienica will be the other two in Beijing. Picking Gasienica (obviously of Polish heritage) over Dean looks downright insane. However since USA doesn't matter much in ski jumping I assume there will be no domestic media backlash over this.
  5. Individual is my favorite event since shooting actually matters here. However I won't be surprised if it gets canned in the next 15 years due to TV demands. Thankfully USA isn't that strong in this sport or else that would have happened already IMO.
  6. Since when IOC cares about balance? Alpine skiing might be one of the most popular winter sports but it doesn't matter. IOC is all about urban "new" sports and new fans. Alpine skiing is literally too old school to profit. Freestyle skiing needs to be expanded especially that's it's so much more popular in USA and we all know NBC is king when it comes to what should have priority. PS. There is no way 80 countries get a quota in alpine skiing. This is not athletics or swimming.
  7. Hildebrand finishead ahead of Weidel despite 3 more penalty minutes. Tell me again how Weidel must be the slowest German skier who ever made the A team in biathlon?
  8. Maka 12th, Lightfoot 20th - both PB. Also Gabriele Lescinskaite in 19th with another PB for our neighbours! @Werloc
  9. 11th place for Anna Maka. Amanda Lightfoot 19/20 and should be World Cup points and probably a PB (31st in Ostersund Individual 2017 so far).
  10. Anna Maka 19/20!!! PB on the way Her PB was 26th in Antholz Individual last season
  11. Braisaz 19/20. Could be the first win for women this season.
  12. Slettemark 18/20! Maybe she's got a chance for some WC points? Probably not enough ski speed but you never know. Vittozzi 12 misses Clare Egan 18/20 so could be a SB result.
  13. Lisa Vittozzi with four misses on the first shoot just like in Ruhpolding sprint
  14. Ukaleq Slettemark with bib #3 so might get some extra screen time
  15. Blaise Giezedanner with bib #43 is the one that finally takes advantage. He goes 3rd!
  16. Looks like a better light for the late 30s numbers, Jeffrey Read sadly flagged on course when only 0,32 down and Christian Walder threw away a potential Top 5 with a crash at the bottom.
  17. [hide] Knockout Round January 23rd - February 6th, 2022 16 Nations, the Winners of each Round of 16-matches qualify for the Quarterfinals Round of 16 Date & Time (GMT +1) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 January 23rd 2022, h. 17:00 Burkina Faso 1 1 Gabon January 23rd 2022, h. 20:00 Nigeria 2 1 Tunisia January 24th 2022, h. 17:00 Guinea 1 0 Gambia January 24th 2022, h. 20:00 Cameroon 3 0 Comoros January 25th 2022, h. 17:00 Senegal 1 0 Cape Verde January 25th 2022, h. 20:00 Morocco 2 1 Malawi January 26th 2022, h. 17:00 Ivory Coast 2 1 Egypt January 26th 2022, h. 20:00 Mali 1 1 Equatorial Guinea [/hide]
  18. Johan Clarey into 2nd place!
  19. A.A. Kilde with a monster run. That could be the victory.
  20. Yes, every deciding set has different rules at every GS now - AO (10 point TB), FO (old school two games advantage), Wimbledon (7 point TB at 12-12) and USO (7 point TB). Amanda Anisimova beat Naomi Osaka 10-5 in third set TB! Guess she might be back after two terrible years. Paula Badosa also through.
  21. Ivory Coast wins 3-1. Epic failure from Algeria.
  22. has oil money so they can buy whomever they want to
  23. 3-0 after 55 minutes. Then Mahrez hits the post from penalty kick
  24. Ivory Coast leads Algeria 2-0 after 40 minutes
  25. Some new positive COVID cases. D.A. Tande, F.Villumstad & J.A. Forfang + P.Zyla. Polish team was supposed to leave on January 31st but athletes need four negative tests upon arrival and the oldest only five days prior to arrival. So this will be a very close run thing. Several top names have withdrawn from Titisee-Neustadt World Cup this coming weekend including Marius Lindvik who was in close contact with Tande but hasn't tested positive yet.
