  1. It's funny how Cuomo was the face of COVID on TV when Trump was still President and suddenly they all hate him. If the COVID situation doesn't get better in USA Democrats have nobody else to blame but themselves anymore since thet have full power now and I bet they know COVID will cripple them too. So they're setting up to throw people to the wolves. Cuomo is obviously one of the first who will have to fall on the sword.
  2. Looks like Democrats have to find a new scapegoat now that Trump is out of office and they can't blame everything on him anymore. New York governor Andrew Cuomo is suddenly feeling the heat https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56120500
  3. Let's see if Takanashi doesn't choke at WCh for a change It should be Kramer vs her for the gold. Kriznar & Opseth didn't look impressive in training & quals so should only fight for minor medals.
  4. Thankfully no gold medal sweep for Norway. Sundling with a power performance in the final whereas Svahn completely flopped in the SF
  5. You think IOC will bankroll the Canadian bid just to keep the Games away from Qatar or Russia? They can get away with this shtick only as long, not to mention four straight Olympics in French/English speaking countries? (Paris, LA, Brisbane, Toronto). That's like zero diversity involved on top of everything else
  6. Canada? After Montreal spend 40+ years paying off the 1976 debt? Canada ain't hosting the SOG in my lifetime ever again. Madrid lost three straight times recently and I think they're done with more bids for a while too.
  7. The most serious bids would be Russia, Turkey and Qatar anyway. These are countries which can spend all the public money they want to and nobody would ask anyone if hosting the Games is "sustainable financially" IOC might as well drop the transparency bullshit but they can't prevent Qatar from hosting SOG forever. Unless flexing them between USA and Australia every four years would be a sign of "diversity"?
  8. They won't. They are officially banned because their doping plan apparently can't be approved in time for the start of IEC. World Athletics rejected their first plan. It's done.
  9. There is no "professional weightlifting" that sucks all the talent out of the Olympics pool though. The thing with boxing is that all the teenagers from USA, UK, Latin American countries are lured by the big pro contracts and don't need Olympic medals anymore. World Amateur Boxing championships are dominated by Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Cuba lately so by countries that get zero love from IOC to begin with. The cold war USA vs The East in amateur boxing is long extinct.
  10. Heard this before. How often can you hear the same bullshit and still buy it? China won the weightlifting medal table at the last FIVE Olympics and we all know Bach and IOC won't do anything to hurt China. C'mon, you ought to know better at this stage
  11. Russia has been banned from taking part in these Championships wholesale. Let's hear it for integrity values, we're back to 2016 collective responsibility again
  12. Behind Norway there's simply more depth in the women's events
  13. Amnesty International is no longer supporting Alexei Navalny Russia is having a field day in 2021 after Biden's quiet approval of Nord Stream 2 and now this https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56181084
  14. I put the emoji since I'm not surprised by IOC turning out to be a bunch of corrupt two-faced fools again. Who really believes in the "integrity" and "transparency" anymore? Professional sport has become business and is driven by one thing only - money. IOC can afford to erase Belarus but they can't afford to erase China! What a shock!
  15. I noticed you can't pick Germany for a medal in men's ski jumping team event Any Other Nation could become a popular choice then

  17. You can't be that naive anymore? It's all about the money and big business. The word integrity, transparency blah blah mean nothing, absolutely nothing. The more things change, the more they stay the same Btw, Qatar will host Summer OG eventually. They have enough money and desire to push through with the idea. Besides, "racial equality" crap preached by the liberals demands SOG should be hosted by a Muslim country one day? Or is it about equality for everyone except the Muslims?
  18. Politico rips Joe Biden for going silent on Nord Stream 2. Of course this senile fool will cave in and succumb to Germany & Russia interests here. So USA replaced an alleged Russian puppet with a guy who is scared to upset Russia too https://www.politico.eu/article/biden-silent-on-sanctions-as-nord-stream-2-speeds-ahead/
  19. IOC is obviously a bunch of politically-motivated hypocrites. If they ban Belarus from competing under their flag it's gonna serve as the ultimate proof IOC doesn't care about integrity they preach. It's all about politics. No wonder nobody takes those idiots & hypocrites seriously. Will they ban China? North Korea? Of course not. What a load of crap this is. One more word about IOC integrity and democracy on this board and I'm gonna riot
  20. This was a low-hanging fruit after Baku (which technically isn't even Europe) and Minsk
  21. European Olympic Committees probably don't realize there's an outright war in Polish internal politics going on for the last few years I can fully expect EG being moved to a different city in Poland to avoid backlash. The COVID pandemic is a great excuse to justify such a change. Majchrowski obviously played the emotional blackmail card here but I don't think that moves the Law & Justice needle one bit.
  22. Law & Justice will never offer any financial help to a city mayor from the post-communist SLD Majchrowski's bluff will be called IMO.
  23. We live in a short-attention span era. 15 second TikTok video is more popular than knowledge who won Nobel Prize 110 years ago
