  1. African Sitting Volleyball Championships 2017 have concluded in Kigali, Rwanda.

     

    The Men's Tournament saw :EGY Egypt beat :RWA Rwanda in the final to take gold and :MAR Morocco beat :ALG Algeria to win bronze.

    This means that the following nations have qualified for the 2018 Sitting Volleyball Championships, the first stage of Paralympic Qualification: :EGY:RWA

     

    On the Women's side the gold medal match saw a reversal of fortunes, with :RWA Rwanda beating :EGY Egypt to claim gold. :KEN Kenya beat :COD Congo DR to claim the bronze.

    Again it is the qualifiers for the World Championships 2018 are : :EGY:RWA

    This means the teams currently qualified for the 2018 World Championships are:

    Men - :EGY:IRI:IRQ:JPN:KAZ:NED:RWA

    Women - :CHN:EGY:IRI:JPN:NED:RWA:USA

    Hopefully, but he scored 487 points today!! He needs to improve his 5th score, currently 375, so something around 330 points should be enough to send him to PyeongChang!

  4. Awful decision by European Weightlifting to move the European Weightlifting Chanpionships to late 2018 so that banned countries can take part! Makes a mockery of the ban, hope the IWF steps in and bans them from the 2018 European Championships whenever it is held in the year.

  5. The following countries have all been given one year bans for repeated doping in Weightlifting. The ban will include this years world championships, next years Youth Olympics, Asian Games, Junior World Championships and continental championships. The list is:
