So the qualifiers for the men’s table tennis quarterfinals from what I can tell are:
in that case who would get the 4th quota given Egypt has already qualified a team?
It appears that the results system is wrong and beat in one of the Round of 16 matches.
Therefore the 4 qualifiers are Nigeria x2, Congo and Senegal.
Crisis of the 4th qualifier averted.

Do you know why? Usual reason in Para is classification issues.
Apparently they turned up late and missed the necessary checks

Canada, Great Britain and New Zealand have all withdrawn from the upcoming Universiade. Australia and USA won’t be sending athletes in swimming, unclear about other sports.
Main issues from GB appear to be Russia/Belarus (now resolved as they are banned), Covid-19 and travel restrictions (in particular the extensive regulations being required by China/organising committee, as athletes for these games are self funded and receive limited organisational support)

But they are classified, otherwise they can't compete. So I'm confused about what she meant or implied exactly
They are classified, however for the past 2 seasons and in races earlier this season Yang Hongqiong was classified as a 10.5, now she’s a 10.
Time wise that is only worth 1% (86% of the raw time instead of 87%), but given the gap was only 1.7 seconds today could have made the difference.

These Chinese results are insane
2014: no medal
2018: 1 gold
2022 after one and a half days: 6 gold, 4 silver, 6 bronze
And it’s not even because the Russians aren’t there, they are beating the dominant athletes in their events like Oksana Masters and Marie Bochet.
China’s Paralympic programme continues to impress even in sports they have very little pedigree in.

This is the current ranking:
ironically Japan, GB and Canada are the three worst teams, but GB have a 13cm average cushion over Canada with 2 more draws to come

Damn, FIL is quick. I assume the quota came from GB.
Not from GB as BOA have confirmed Rupert Staudinger’s quota
