Hmmm, both Fonseca at Roma and Van Bommel at Wolfsburg committed mistakes in doing subs recently and they were sanctioned with a loss, so unless there are specific rules for international matches Benin will be awarded the win.

I don't think Congo should be disqualified, it is the 4th referee ineptitude that allowed this. They should be keeping track of the substitutions and preventing teams from making illegal ones. It's not different than the main ref allowing a handball goal, it's the referees job to enforce the rules. At best the match should be replayed.

Yeah, everything will be based on that quarterfinal. It is just absolutely essential to win the group to avoid CAN/USA in the QF then it is all open.

I kinda agree, Sweden is not the old Sweden they used to be ..... experience from last champs, Finland is playable so then, it depends on luck a current mental state. I would kinda expect semifinals for US, Canada, Russia and I hope Czech :-)

I am not sure if China team pursuit got provisional quota despite of DQ. But I tend to think we are provisionally qualified based on my own interpretation of the document. I think as long as we are on top 11 (8 qualified teams + 3 reserve list teams) then we are qualified. Since there are only 11 teams registered so China is qualified for sure. I am eager to know others' thought about it and below is the qualification document and the relevant part. D.2.2 If the host country does not earn at least two (2) quota places in the 500m, 1000m, 1500m, Mass Start (Women and Men), 3000m Women and 5000m Men and at least one (1) quota place in the 5000m Women and 10000m Men in D.2.1 but it has athletes who are placed in the respective events/distances Reserve List (as per D.2.5), for each individual event concerned the host country will be allocated event quota places considering also athletes ranked in the Reserve list, up to a maximum of two (2) athletes in the 500m, 1000m, 1500m, Mass Start (Women and Men), 3000m Women and 5000m Men and one (1) quota place in the 5000m Women and 10000m Men. For each of the Team Pursuit events the host country will be allocated an event quota place also in the case that the host country is only ranked in a Reserve list position. Skoda, ze Stekly dostal DSQ v tom zmatenym zavode. Byl by hodne blizko si myslim.... Uvidime jak pri dalsich zavodech..... Kuršová je nyni prave 24.

for some unknown reasons Iran is not going to participate in this competition. they were supposed to leave yesterday but then all of a sudden they cancelled everything. officially because some of team members are COVID positive but that's a lie. they don't even train together to become infected altogether. there is another reason behind this, we still don't know what. what a terrible news, Iran won the last 3 team Kumite gold medals and they were looking for the 4th gold in a row.

unfortunately it looks that mr. Cuper made a capital mistake in the last match and by using 1 substitution too much and therefore DR Congo are going to lose match and chance to go to the final qualifying playoffs...
