While we're at it, Turkey illegally invaded Cyprus in 1974, ethnically cleansed the Greek population from the northern part of the island, and still to this day they occupy that part of the island. Thousands of indigenous Greek natives are still missing. The rest still can't go back to their homes almost 50 years later. There were never any sanctions by the IOC and other sports governing bodies back then or today, or ever. The only thing that happened was that as a reward for invading in 1974, the EBU invited Turkey to make their Eurovision debut in 1975 (Greece withdrew because of this). The point is, it would be nice if there is some consistency in people selectively pushing for some countries to be banned but not others.6 points

hmm, I think Iran is doing OK in term of number of medals but only 1 gold so far doesn't look good. even though in first 3 days beside volleyball the only sport we had a legit chance to win gold was Taekwondo. specially today we had the current World Champion but she lost in the first round not the biggest surprise ever to me since I know our girls can't handle the pressure of being #1 favorite. we could win 2 more golds in the men's side but they both lost the finals narrowly. and our other medal-favorite girl lost because of weird electronic system which gave 20 extra points to the Chinese girl. I mean we are probably 1 gold less than expectations so far but that happens. you know wrestling is our big thing when it comes to the Asian Games but having World Championship only few days before the Games really ruined some of our chances. we still don't know the Asian Games squad and they are considering some changes. most of our top lighter weights wrestlers can't cut weight twice in a short period of time.4 points

Dressage really made a huge wave today in India. First equestrian gold since 1982 and first dressage medal since 1986. Had my friends asking about the discipline showed them the highlights and they were waiting for the horse to jump when they realized there were no hurdles at all and watched some best dressage videos of past world champs and enjoyed it.2 points -

I think it's even more crazy how many Ukrainian athletes were bought by Azerbaijan. These Ukrainians compete for Azerbaijan and win medals for them. They are fully sponsored by the Azeri government and the evil dictator Aliyev. It's the biggest example of sports propaganda! At the same time, Aliyev is ethnically cleansing Armenians while something similar is happening to Ukrainians by Putin. I think it's really shameful for these Ukrainians to be representing Azerbaijan and supporting the country which is doing the same thing to Armenians that Russia is doing to them2 points

It is not possible to change the width/lenght of a single cell, but only of the whole column/row. As for the rest, it is possible to edit more cells at the same time only by selecting them before doing the edit, and you can select multiple cells only if they are close to each other.. As a general rule anyway, it is always better and quicker to copy-paste from a similar table and then edit what you need to edit. For any specific request don't hesitate to contact me in private, I am quite expert with tables editing1 point -
Very surprising podium. Gold for India, silver for China, no medal for neither Japan nor South Korea (I believe that's a first time for both). Jacqueline Siu looks good for a possible individual title defense, meanwhile.1 point

Domestically this is at worst a footnote on the list of Trudeau’s problems (and also it’s completely believable this didn’t involve the PMO at all, the speaker’s office is very much independent from the government).1 point -

Good point. Brownlee - like his brother - is an excellent cycling captain so, if willing, he could still assist Yee makeup any reasonable deficit. Of course, that makes no allowance for the tactics of the very strong group of French challengers. In some ways the two races may be a mirror image of each other. Yee up against a strong group of Frenchmen and Beaugrand facing a similar group of Brits. That's not to say there aren't a lot of other talented triathletes capable of upsetting the French and British apple carts.1 point

Beaugrand seems to struggle on hillier courses as we saw at the weekend and at the European Championships/Games in Berlin last year where Non Stanford beat her. I imagine the course in Paris will be pretty flat for that reason (I didn't see the test event). A fit GTB alongside Potter would present a formidable threat to her in those circumstances. Duffy too if she's fit and in form.1 point

The Philippine women’s 3x3 basketball team had to pull out of the Games after they were able to find only two players for the team. The head coach had submitted a list of thirteen players to the organising committee but only two agreed to play for the team. An attempt to replace the two players was rejected by the organising committee.1 point -

Yes. Amazing result. China did a good job but Korea is just amazing tonight. BTW just in case some of you guys don't know before, male Asian Games champions and Olympic Games medalists will be exempt from compulsory military service about 2 years. So basically male athletes may be more motivated than other countries.1 point

Thank you everyone for all the well wishes, I am blown away by your kindness. I am glad to be back again too . As for TISC, it looks like we need to open up for bids so if you're interested throw your hat into the ring! @Olympian1010 I didn't miss that you have already said you would like to bid If there is anyone else who would like to bid please write here in this thread. If we get multiple bids, we can do a draw this Friday 15th September. Hopefully that gives people enough time to notice the thread and then give the new host enough time to prepare to host the contest. I'll post some details later about the bidding process.1 point
