Yes, Olympic trials are only being held for individual events.

So I guess Abel/Beaulieu-Citrini in women’s 3m, and Riendau/Szombor-Murray in men’s platform?

Any news on Chinese team @Vic Liu?

No official one. But all trials finished and I watched most of them so I can guess the squad. The only unpredictable part is that Cao Yuan withdrew the last trials due to injury. Here is my guess

Men's 10m single: Yang Jian, Lian Junjie

Men's 10m synchro: Chen Aisen & Cao Yuan (back-up Yang Jian)

Men's 3m single: Xie Siyi, Wang Zongyuan

Men's 3m synchro: Xie Siyi & Wang Zongyuan

Women's 10m single: Chen Yuxi, Quan Hongchan

Women's 10m synchro: Chen Yuxi & Zhang Jiaqi

Women's 3m single: Shi Tingmao, Wang Han

Women's 3m synchro: Shi Tingmao & Wang Han

Total 6 men and 5 women. If Cao Yuan absent it would be 5 men and 5 women.

Looks like they gave :ITA a quota in men's 3m springboard despite Ireland and Canada finishing ahead (I imagine the athlete will also compete in the synchro diving event which made this possible). What a farce...

Italian diver was 13th in the World Cup, that's why they won a quota.

Decision tomorrow. Infantino sier at Det internasjonale fotballforbundet ønsker å øke antallet kvinnelag for å styrke kvinnefotballbevegelsen. OL i 2028 arrangeres i Los Angeles i USA. Fifa-forslaget kan havne på IOCs bord allerede på onsdagens styremøte. (NTB)

    • The national team trials to determine South Korea’s short track representatives for the Milan Olympics are currently underway. This week features three races (500m / 1000m / 1500m), followed by another three races next week (500m / 1000m / 1500m). The combined points from all six races will decide who earns a spot on the Olympic team, and a major shake-up in the men’s lineup is expected. In the first week, Rim Jong Un—winner of three gold medals at the 2025 World Junior Championships—claimed victory in the 1500m, while Shin Dongmin—also a triple gold medalist from the 2024 Junior Worlds—won the 500m. Hwang Daehon, the 2022 Olympic gold medalist in the 1500m, finished second in both races and is on track to make his return to the national team. At this rate, it seems unlikely that we’ll see familiar names like Park Jiwon or Kim Gunwoo at the Olympics.

    • Nothing too realistic. To be fair, rumours of Verstappen going to team X or Y (mostly Mercedes and Aston Martin) have been going on for years, I'm still expecting him to sit out his entire contract with Red Bull
    • But that's only a thing in the longer events, since one would generally go all-out in everything under 800 meters anyway.   For short/long hurdles, they should simply do the 100/110/400 meter hurdles twice, if they so badly want to have it as a double thing. Having all the hurdle specialists do flat races is fun for a bit, not gonna lie, but it makes the whole thing feel mostly like an exhibition event.   Besides, start this in a small stadium in the US instead of something big like this. Now it had the feel of a random training field somewhere in godknowswhere. Why does it need to be so massively American immediately, start a bit more...humble, and try and grow from there.
    • Oh, right, there is Hirscher  But I think that's unlikely as well, given his injury that kept him out of almost the entire season and his results before that which were nowhere near what he would need to qualify....I highly doubt it. It'd be cool, but I doubt it.
