Btw, I think we now have the most non-European nations (17) competing in the history of the contest. The previous record was 15 (Open 2015, Annual 2019, Open 2019, Annual 2020).

I think I already know what my choice is for the Hungarian entry. I have "experimented" with some less popular songs recently, this time I think I will just submit a very popular song, with over 20 million views on YouTube, from an artist many of you probably know from Eurovision. I am just curious what happens when I submit something very popular, we haven't submitted a song like that since the 2020 annual contest.

Spain 12

 

 

My first TISC participation was the 2019 Open contest and guess what TISC meme originated from that contest? I guess the prophecy was right, Spain had to win the contest which was hosted by me.  Joking aside, Spain collected 160 points, 4 x 12 pts from    , 1 x 11 pts from  and 3 x 10 pts from   . There are no questions about which was the strongest nation of this contest. I would like to congratulate @Cobi, Spain was long overdue for this kind of success in TISC. And now we shall end the contest the way every song contest should, with the winning song.

 

Goodbye 2022 Annual Contest, Goodbye Hungary, see ya at the next contest, hopefully in Czech Republic, and then next year in Spain!

Before we end the ceremony and the contest with the winners, there's one more Hungarian tradition that I want to share. We start our ceremonies with our anthem and we end our ceremonies with another national song, the Szózat (Summons), which is considered the second anthem of Hungary. So to respect this tradition, Hungary is saying goodbye to TISC with the Szózat.

Team Challenge Final Standings

 

 

There's no TISC without a team event and this time the most consistent team won the contest. The Szombathely Romans always had at least one nation in their team that helped them out in every session, they were a real team. Fehérvár Saints were the strongest team for session 2 and 3 but their mojo ran out in the last session. And while Pécs Scholars were already eliminated in the first round, they fought their way through the repechages and won the bronze medal.

This contest isn't about 1v1 matches but I still would like to see what made the difference between the top nations. The tables will show the points difference per nations. For example, if a nation gave Nation A 12 points while they gave Nation B 8 points, they will be seen on the left side of the table with +4 points for Nation A.

Don't worry, you don't have to hike this time, it will be only the celebration of the best songs of the contest and it won't take too long, you can expect it to end in half an hour. Btw, I was very worried that the swaps on the voting order will change things significantly for the team event, so I am very happy to say that we got lucky: the two swaps (Indonesia-Ukraine, India-Moldova) didn't alter the team event, we would have had the same final standings with the original draw.

I can finally talk about how the voting went when was receiving the votes from you: it was insane. Very different from the voting of the Grand Final, but one thing was very similar: Spain pulled ahead with the last batch of the votes that I got. There were times when Finland was winning. There were times when Hungary was winning. I was like "lol, don't tell me that I will win the contest that I am hosting. ". Spain's win and the medals for Ireland and Great Britain only became clear on the last 1-2 days of the voting.

This might be an anticlimactic ending for you, but it sure isn't for the home crowd!    Hungary takes the final 12 points of the day, and jumps up to the 6th position on the table.    Ireland officially wins the silver for the first time ever!    Great Britain ends their drought and wins their first TISC medal since Open 2018.    Finland is in the Top 5 for the first time ever!   And of course we shouldn't forget about that...  SPAIN WON THE CONTEST!   The voting is over but there's still one more event left: the Closing Ceremony!   It will start in 30 minutes at 22:30 CEST.
