Some nations have their entries missing in the opening post (Croatia, Kazalhstan, maybe more).

Entries posted later are already there.

@Hipooo I think three already submitted songs are missing from the table. Croatia, Kazakhstan and Italy.

We are waiting for 10 songs (or maybe more if other countries want to join before the deadline), the window closes in 12 hours and 30 minutes.

Totallympics Open International Song Contest 2022
Posted (edited)

Btw, I think we now have the most non-European nations (17) competing in the history of the contest. The previous record was 15 (Open 2015, Annual 2019, Open 2019, Annual 2020).

For the first time ever Hungary sends a Romani artist to TISC, someone who many of you probably know from Eurovision. (And yes, even when I finally send a more popular song from a more well-known artist, it's still not a regular popsong. :d) Please, welcome Joci Pápai and his single from 2017, "Özönvíz".

:HUN is in.

I think I already know what my choice is for the Hungarian entry. I have "experimented" with some less popular songs recently, this time I think I will just submit a very popular song, with over 20 million views on YouTube, from an artist many of you probably know from Eurovision. I am just curious what happens when I submit something very popular, we haven't submitted a song like that since the 2020 annual contest.

The temptation is always high for me to send our own Hungarian Irish band just to see if we would win TISC with them.

Szózat

Before we end the ceremony and the contest with the winners, there's one more Hungarian tradition that I want to share. We start our ceremonies with our anthem and we end our ceremonies with another national song, the Szózat (Summons), which is considered the second anthem of Hungary. So to respect this tradition, Hungary is saying goodbye to TISC with the Szózat.

Team Challenge Final Standings

There's no TISC without a team event and this time the most consistent team won the contest. The Szombathely Romans always had at least one nation in their team that helped them out in every session, they were a real team. Fehérvár Saints were the strongest team for session 2 and 3 but their mojo ran out in the last session. And while Pécs Scholars were already eliminated in the first round, they fought their way through the repechages and won the bronze medal.

One-on-One Matches

This contest isn't about 1v1 matches but I still would like to see what made the difference between the top nations. The tables will show the points difference per nations. For example, if a nation gave Nation A 12 points while they gave Nation B 8 points, they will be seen on the left side of the table with +4 points for Nation A.

Charts!

I hope you like charts because I got two of them. During the final I posted the summaries of the sessions where I showed you the progression of the Top10. Now you will see something similar for the whole final and for the Top 12 nations because they were the ones that crossed the 100 points line. 12 is a record number of nations to reach 100 points at a contest, it only happened one other time, at the 2018 Annual contest, where we had 41 nations competing.

The first chart shows the rankings, the second one the collected points.

Welcome to the Closing Ceremony

Welcome to the last event of our contest, the Closing Ceremony. Don't worry, you don't have to hike this time, it will be only the celebration of the best songs of the contest and it won't take too long, you can expect it to end in half an hour. I hope you still remember the final standings of the contest, but if you don't, you can see them below.

Btw, I was very worried that the swaps on the voting order will change things significantly for the team event, so I am very happy to say that we got lucky: the two swaps (Indonesia-Ukraine, India-Moldova) didn't alter the team event, we would have had the same final standings with the original draw.

I can finally talk about how the voting went when was receiving the votes from you: it was insane. Very different from the voting of the Grand Final, but one thing was very similar: Spain pulled ahead with the last batch of the votes that I got. There were times when Finland was winning. There were times when Hungary was winning. I was like "lol, don't tell me that I will win the contest that I am hosting. ". Spain's win and the medals for Ireland and Great Britain only became clear on the last 1-2 days of the voting.
