  1. Necktie is too often used in Catholic school. Never learned to tie one, prefer a polo or bow tie for professional occasions.
  2. A “life” story . Always nice to see such acts of sportsmanship. I always hate that they’re not rewarded.

Very little I want to watch, and poor coverage overall. No biathlon, speed skating, cross country skiing, nordic combined, ski jumping, ski mountaineering, bobsleigh, skeleton, or luge. This bums me out to be quite honest. Hopefully make some replays of those sports available, or Swiss TV plans to broadcast some.
  4. No it’s actually called Cross Country Olympic in multi-sports games when Cross Country Marathon is also held. That’s probably why they have it named that way
  5. A bit ambitious for our current state, but not a bad goal. I’ll keep that one in mind. I do love a good game of Jeopardy. Fully intend to audition for the college tournament next year.
  6. I don’t even know what to say about this one: https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1087912/birmingham-2022-shooting-solution @intoronto @Fly_like_a_don
  7. We are genuinely trying to make some more, fun/entertaining content on top of our news service for you guys. So if there is ever anything you’d like for us try, please don’t hesitate to suggest. Me, @Vojthas, and @Dragon love what we do. We also really enjoy interacting with all of you. So again, if you ever have a suggestion or even thoughtful criticism, please feel free to share it.
  8. Whelp, back to the SEA Games, which are somehow miraculously better
  9. It was a bit backwards wasn’t it . I was just laughing at the elders, that’s all.
  10. I’ve been working on some ideas for other things there
  11. I was thinking more Cali, LA, or Buenos Aires. Lima isn’t currently in a position to host either.
  12. Very concerning indeed. Hopefully it’s resolved, but I’m beginning to think it may be in the best interest of games to choose a new host.
  13. Wrong thread? Pretty sure the 2023 SEA Games are in Cambodia, not Chile
  14. Despite all the issues with these games, I’ve really been enjoying them the last few days. I still have hundreds of hours of streaming to get through too, and that makes me even more excited .
  15. I came across something really neat while making results books for the 2014 Asian Games. Every morning the sports results system would be begin with a message that “Good Morning”. I know that doesn’t seem like it’s a lot, but I thought it was a cool way to greet spectators, officials, and archivists like myself. The day would end with “Good Night” also.
  16. Nobody would ever want to live in Sacramento period . Hell, I got robbed there the one time I stayed in town. Look, if we just forget about the Central Valley, California is a wonderful state . The taxes have their usefulness. Californians have better social support programs, education, and natural resources than most states. We’re far from perfect though, and many of our systems need desperate improvement. I would classify myself as very happy though (when it comes to California, not the US). The biggest issues in the state are the affordable housing crisis, homeless crisis, and water crisis. Some of that is the responsibility of the federal government, and some of that is our responsibility.
  17. Clearly California has the best weather, but yes Florida and Texas are nice too . I don’t actually mind the cold though. Does it suck, yes. Does it stop me from going about my day, not really. I could absolutely see how people could find the cold unlivable though, so fair point. Maybe I should add Climate to that list above.
  18. I we were to consider producing a international sports trivia contest, or other type of international sports based game, which of the following would be your preferred means of playing. 1) Podcast style. We invite one user on a week, and they answer questions. 2) Buzzfeed style quizzes on the website. 3) Knowledge quizzes on the website 4) Livestream of questions on YouTube, people can answer in the chat. Participation could be restricted to mostly Totallympics members, or anyone in the general public could play. Might be hard to chose a winner. 5) Twitter polls on our Twitter account. Winner given a shoutout (and maybe a prize somewhere down the line if possible). 6) Some other than a trivia game that could made into a podcast, or maybe a livestream 7) I wouldn’t play, so it doesn’t matter to me You can choose as many of those options as you want, and you can talk about/ask questions about any of them. If you have an idea, we can talk about that too.
  19. That one was a complete mistake. I apologize for that one. I clicked on the wrong thread I think.
  20. US House of Representatives voted to restore and strengthen the Voting Rights Act today. Only one single Republican thought that everyone should be allowed to vote ?. The US House has passed Gun Reform, Healthcare Expansion, Voting Rights, etc. and the US Senate will not pass any of it. This is the damage Trump can indirectly do @heywoodu. 8 years of stalled social reform, that was already stalled during the 8 years of Obama’s presidency because Republicans wouldn’t vote on it then either. We’ve essentially had 2 decades without any social reform, and we’ve let other critical programs be halted because they’ve become partisan issues. Those are dangerous conditions we’re making. This is the only reason I might actually find myself leaning towards Bloomberg, just to “flip the bird” to the US political system.
  21. 1/4 of our country is just Nazis at this point. I’m 95% certain of this
  22. Well the plots thickens here, supposedly the shooter was from the Saudi military, and it may have actually been a terrorist attack.
  23. I believe that was very good joke @Werloc pulled off
  24. Don’t know. One of a few sports I don’t follow at all. Unfortunately the Iroquois Confederation is not allowed to participate in the tournament, and that’s a big loss for Lacrosse
