    Probably has more to do with the US being completely disinterested in distance skating outside of the Team Pursuit and Mass Start.

    Nothing new in this piece, but the compromise proposed seems like the best thing going forward. To me there’s a difference between technology and doping. Though upon thinking about it, there’s not that big of a difference besides technology doesn’t hurt the athlete. It’s a rough debate, and one that could very well overshadow the distance events at Tokyo 2020. It will be interesting to see if Nike changes the sprinting world anytime soon...

    Okay, now I like this qualification system more. I was looking at the quota (boat) distribution the other day, and I was very concerned.

    They don’t They do need closer ties to the region, since China’s been on a tear in the region (in terms of making friends, and building badly needed infrastructure for the local community). The easiest way to make friends is through sport (which China have also realized since they’re building all the venues for the 2023 Pacific Games)

    That’s where Tonga trains. They have some deal with the Aussies to train them or something.

    My ranking (only including Oscar nominated shorts): 1. Brotherhood 2. The Neighbor’s Window 3. A Sister 4. Saria (haven’t seen it) 5. (And should not have been nominated to me) Nefta Football Club I love the diversity of stories in this category this year. We see films in from all over the world, and in 4 different languages. It’s a great selection, and I can’t wait to see who will win.

    Not disagreeing, but you should watch the show before you immediately write it off. (Yes, the first episode is a lot, but it only gets better from there)
