  1. So they heard about Totallympics’ 40 million dollar worth or whatever I see
  2. Yeah, I trust neither North Korean, Taiwan, or Chinese media here. Unlike many, I don’t think the Chinese are trying to engage in a massive conspiracy with this thing, but I am sad they tried to cover it up a first.
  3. There’s been rumors of some cases in North Korea along the Chineee border, but nothing confirmed. Kim Jong Un has made protection North Korea (himself) from this disease a top priority.
  4. Democrats are in a unique position where black voters will probably support Bernie (and many already do except in the South), but many white voters won’t support Biden. The black vote is honestly one of the hardest things to predict in American politics because Black Americans have been so disenfranchised. Latinos also support Sanders in huge numbers right. Plus, Sanders carries an insane amount of the under 45 vote, that the Democrats also can’t afford to lose. If Biden wins, I think the Democrats lose. If Sanders wins, it’s close. If Warren wins, we’re in the White House.
  5. Well, Sanders leads every Super Tuesday poll, so it may be a short lived victory. South Carolina likes remembering battle losers anyway
  6. Well, it’s past midnight here, but I’m finally finished. Here’s a comprehensive review of today’s action complete with athlete interviews: https://games24.totallympics.com/?p=1812
  7. Contreras and Aguado are actually very good climbers. I had actually pegged them as the favorites to qualify today. Yip was a surprise winner for me (despite her being more well known than the other two)
  8. Yeah, everyone not Yip was completely distraught. I’ve never been in an environment like that. I really felt for Contreras because she was the real favorite for the quota. She was very nice, and kind enough to give me interview just as she was about to leave the venue as well.
  9. Can confirm that she did in fact get the quota, despite two Chilean protests (Boulder and Lead from my understanding). I have no clue what those concerned, but Yip was by far the best climber today. I did manage to get an interview with her, but I don’t know how much will be usable. I got an interview with Contreras as well. Overall, I really enjoyed myself, and climbing was great. The layout of gym is really bad for those type of competition though.
  10. Some dude just coughed on me, and I’m about to lose my shit.
  11. Bouldering isn’t done. We’re just about to start the third problem. The Canadians are in fact killing it. Rojas is out I’m afraid. Contreras looks good too. Aguado looks terrible. Americans are meh.
  12. Quick, what’s the nicest way to ask a Brazilian or Spanish speaking athlete for an interview?
  13. I’m waving at your from over at LAX! Have fun (and don’t catch Coronavirus).
  14. Yes, for sure. They’ll be in a article published too. Might publish the article first in order to make the press conferences, and other fun stuff.
  15. Got to speak with the IFSC Communications Director. I’m literally completely out of my league right now. Now, we just sitting across from each doing work. The perks of putting in hours of effort into building a good media organization I suppose. I’m so happy that I get this privilege, and I get to share it with all of you. Remember, updates will most likely be on my personal Twitter (scores, personal observations, comments).
  16. Also, let me just say, I can’t wait to find out that someone here tests positive for Coronavirus. This competition better be worth it.
  17. Thankfully no problems. People seemed to think it was odd that a 19 year old in a climbing gym shirt was accredited for this event Gym is by far the largest I’ve been in. Really impressive facilities. There’s a actually a good crowd already hanging out about and hour and a half before the Speed comp. The venue is quite literally next door to LAX, so if someone does have Coronavirus, we can ship their ass off
  18. I feel like some countries are using this virus as a way to save money on hosting events. I’m not sure if that’s the case here or not, but it’s annoying still. I am glad that many IFs are taking athlete wellbeing seriously, unlike others (cough*FIL*cough)
  19. Alrighty, I’m en route to the venue. I should get there a bit before the scheduled start of Speed. Hopefully, I’ll be able to bring y’all good coverage. If I’m able to, I be “live tweeting” from my personal Twitter or Totallympics Media Twitter.
  20. I really don’t get canceling any of these sports events (except in “epicenters” of the disease). This is so similar to the common flu, and yet we don’t go around cancelling events for that. Malaria kills more people yearly than either of those two, and yet events still take place in Africa in those areas.
  21. I agree completely. Plus, what about losing all the progress we made on women’s rights in Afghanistan. What about the people democracy has served well their. I think it’s a mistake, but I also think we do need to leave eventually.
  22. The United States and the Taliban have signed a peace deal after 18 years of war (almost my entire lifetime, I’ve never known a time that our soldiers weren’t fighting in Afghanistan). There were 26 countries as witnesses, including the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The peace deal terms are: Afghanistan (and the Taliban) must not allowed terrorist groups to take root. There must be dialogue now between the different fractions of Afghanistan. The US will move towards withdrawing all troops. Permanent ceasefire.
  23. And even their party was so broad that they accomplished very little. I think the same happened to the Democrats in 2006-2008. The Democrats have great ideological divides though, so it’s harder for them to work together.
  24. Two suspected cases in Washington. Looks like it’s going be a long month here on the West Coast.
