Many Russian athletes have doped, and I think the overall solution is the right one. But these three have no histories and it's disputed whether they were actually in the report. If they were serious about actually getting to the bottom of the situation, they wouldn't announce this so close to the Games where there is no appeal possible. 
I say, let them take part. Not just because it'll make the sports so much more interesting to watch, but because I think it's a foul play political move.

I'll never understand that logic. The Olympics are not just about medals. Sport is not just about the very top, participation is a key factor also. Federations and NOC should care about that too.
 
Besides, it's not like potential medallists are schoolboys that somehow will get deconcentrated by the "bad pupils".

So, aparently, this BIG MESS is a new athletics event. This is footage from a European Games Test held in Portugal last week, where some spanish teams were invited to take part and test the new event.

It's a relay-style race where each runner does some weitght-draggin while runing, then some throwing, then obtacules and finally they carry a big ball (?)
