  1. today's M 800m in Chorzów, WL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PaQwkQ5Iyg
  2. There are so many sportsmen/sportswomen from other countries I cheer on... and they are from very different countries. And every olympics I find someone who I noticed and liked in some prelims/qualification rounds and begin to cheer on as well... But I think my favourite would be Mutaz Essa Barshim - his coach is Polish, would be great if Mutaz wins, we don't have any medal chances for Poland in M HJ. But I'm afraid that Mutaz is one of these athletes whose chances are smaller than they would be if the games were in 2020
  3. I would even say : because people don't necessarily equal their country. Which may be quite a surprise for some guys here on this forum.
  4. Maybe this thing suddenly became more realistic today than it was yesterday with today's huge performance by Patryk Dobek in M 800m. ? Would be awesome.
  5. Krzysztof Różnicki (18 years old) 800m, 1:44.51 Chorzów WOW
  6. that was fast!
  7. Patryk Dobek 1:43.73 WL M 800m, Chorzów, today ?
  8. What medal in Tokyo for someone NOT from your country would be the most fun for you?
  9. I think the biggest fun for me would be a medal in individual running event in athletics. Last time we had it was 1980 :-( I don't think it is very realistic though but maybe M 1500m ...
  10. @Oldira oh, i just love this " Rome 1960 " book by David Maraniss. I may even call it the best olympic book I have ever read - at least among English language books. (David Wallechinsky is a seperate category...)
  11. When is the first realistic medal chance of the Games for your nation? I think that would be day 2. Katarzyna Niewiadoma may have a chance for a medal in women's road race in cycling. But this event is so unpredictable that you never really know. Chances for a medal on day 1 in men's road race are rather slim this time I'm afraid. Both Rafał Majka and Michał Kwiatkowski are not as good this year as they used to be. We will see how they perform in Tour de France (maybe their form will be getting better) but a repeat of their teamwork and medal performance from Rio is rather doubtful, which makes me really sad. When do you think your nation will get their first medal and in which event? If Katarzyna Niewiadoma doesn't make it on day 2, I think we may get a medal on day 4 in rowing - men's or women's quadruple sculls. Or in fencing - women's team epee. I think on day 4 we should have at least one medal out of these few chances. Is there a bumper day for your nation where you expect more than one or a few medals to come? If so, what day? Day 15 - athletics: W 4x400m, M javelin (Marcin Krukowski) and maybe M 1500m (Marcin Lewandowski) and W high jump (Kamila Lićwinko) plus W K4 500m in canoe sprint plus M volleyball final if we manage to get there plus outside chance in M beach volleyball. Then day 14 - athletics: W javelin (Maria Andrejczyk) and M sprint in cycling track And we may have 2 medals in M hammer (day 12) - Paweł Fajdek and Wojciech Nowicki. Day 11 is W K1 200m and W K2 500m in canoe sprint and W hammer. Generally speaking, second week (days 11-15) should be better for Poland. Is there a day when you expect to have not so much competitors from your nation competing or no chances for medals? Day 1 will rather not be the best for us. Day 10 will be without medal chances as well, I'm afraid.
  12. What medal for your country would be the most fun for you?
  13. uff... yes, we are still breathing... it will be extremely tough against Sweden though.
  14. @OlympicIRL very nice questions. Let me think a bit. Watching ESP vs POL football game right now so it has to wait ?
  15. I wonder if Throssell will swim 100 fly in Tokyo. She hasn't achieved Australian QT at trials.
  16. I think these are clearly Russian/Chinese hackers at work ? Because one notification in French and then another one in English
  17. All of a sudden all my notifications on this site are in French. How can I change it? ;-) (my French is not good at all, I'm afraid)
  18. Where is this foul? I can't see it.
  19. @OlympicsFan I can't see a foul in this WR throw. Some Polish athletes didn't see it, either. But maybe we've missed something.
  20. Swimswam uses only december 2020 results in their 2020-21 rankings I think
  21. All those Hungarian ultras choosing to wear black T-shirts instead of national colours doesn't really look good for me. That's bad associations for me, I'm afraid.
  22. Polish media keeps saying that both Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz will play in Tokyo. So there should be no withdrawals here. I think Magda Linette will not skip the games, either.
