  1. And Renaat Schotte, the main Belgian journalist in terms of being present, said there were CPR attempts ongoing, but it's unclear whether that was for Jakobsen, the judge or both.
  2. For some context, here you see the grain store (the building basically touching the ! notification), to the east of it are two warehouses. The northern one (with a ship next to it) is now a ruin, the southern one (where the stuff was presumably stored), is now a water-filled crater..
  3. With whatever's left of it pretty much relying on...yep, the port of Beirut.
  4. Yep, reminds me of Enschede 2000 on a bigger scale.
  5. That last one
  6. You heard it yourself?
  7. The only reason to even think about a nuclear device is the momentary shape of the cloud, it would be much bigger were it indeed that.
  8. That definitely fits with a fireworks factory. It's how parts of the Dutch city of Enschede were decimated in 2000 - fire, lots of small explosions and then a huge devastating explosing when the whole thing went up.
  9. Oh they are true. I mean, one video, sure, have doubts...but tons and tons of videos from literally every angle (flats, streets, even boats)...that's real. And big. That was absolutely insane..
  10. He was having problems and worries about his tyres for a good while and was wondering when/it he'd have a chance to come in. Good choice.
  11. Probably, although considering the amount of blown tyres in the last two laps, it might have just as easily ended in disaster.
  12. Jesus Hamilton is lucky
  13. Verstappen making sure his engineers stay hydrated I can only imagine how boring this race must be for him in no man's land
  14. Nice try by Lundgaard to go for medium compound tyres at the end, but eventually it just made him go from 2nd back to 2nd
  15. People get angry, it happens.
  16. The more annoying thing is something like Black Mirror, where episodes can take anything from 40 to 90 minutes, roughly How can I plan watching an episode then? Not meant as a Black Mirror attack, because I love Black Mirror (after 4 episodes at least).
  17. Did Jack Miller really not see Jack Miller crashing while in podium contention coming?
  18. This has been going around for years, and recent developments (like the pushes to kill allround, also known as the very basis of speed skating) don't make it seem very hopeful.
  19. I know the ISU is working insanely hard to try and kill speed skating with all kinds of bullshit made for the goldfish-attention-span-people, I don't need to waste more words on them
  20. What I meant was that there used to be months of hype and discusson about a show. People would discuss the latest episode for a week and wonder what's going to happen next, and most people were roughly watching at the same pace, meaning there was a ton of discussion possible. Nowadays some people watch the whole thing in a day or a week, and so if you watch it at a more calmer pace, there's no way to discuss anything anymore, because everything is full with spoilers (and it's not nice anyway to discuss and wonder about shows with people who've already watched everything). It was not meant as an attack at people, just to be clear. Luckily there are indeed still some shows that air once a week or something similar, instead of the whole thing at once.
  21. You forgot to turn it on in July?
  22. It was released last night and already before the night ended you've finished the entire season, and you call it 'finally'? I really miss the times when shows weren't released entire seasons at a time, the hype for a show is maybe a few weeks now (if even that) and then it's over
  23. And he's just out of the game of life in general, he goes on the list with Djokovic.
  24. A lot are (although maybe not literally daily, but you know, they are common words). These ones are either old-fashioned/barely ever used or I don't even know what they are banderol echelon ampeer jamboree jerrican (we actually use jerrycan) kaveling catapult (it's katapult in Dutch) kous (although in the sense of old-fashioned socks, sure) knalpot claxonneren (it's a correct word, but basically nobody says anything else than 'toeteren') koelie komfoor (we use comfort, although probably pronounced the same and not in the English way) complotteren piket razzia (at least not really since WW2) zuurzak onanie (I kinda know what it is without googling, but nobody uses that except for perhaps in a Sheldon-like joking manner)
