  1. I don't think Albania is saving anything for the final, or needs to worry about saving anything for the final
  2. The organization has been very unclear about the ticket sales, apparently, things only became somewhat clear in the past weeks... It's like they didn't really want to fill the stadium
  3. Right, SF1 is about to start. Curious to see how it goes, so far the past week everything has been characterized as....chaotic, to say the least Much uncertainty about ticket sales, the stage being of doubtful quality, a lot of missed shots and such by camera people. Let's see
  4. A first x km is always worth writing about
  5. Meh. Maybe the start would be fun, if for once all drivers would actually be capable of simply performing a rolling start - which is an extreme rarity in IndyCar races on non-ovals, 9 out of 10 times they just aren't able to do that. At least in the previous race the race director finally waved the yellow for a retry when the field was, as per usual, all messed up before the start. As we saw yesterday, there was quite some overtaking action, just less in the top-3 (which is fairly common).
  6. Luckily we got some shots of people standing in the pit boxes and sitting on the grandstands!
  7. Well if the end result is the same (no real shot at a ticket given their current quality), the damage in the end is kind of the same
  8. Apparently belief in a Brazilian woman qualifying isn't very big in Brazil, due to changes compared to Tokyo's qualifying system. What exactly changed (for a country like Brazil)? I heard something about certain races not counting anymore, which is negative for countries like Brazil, but not sure about the details.
  9. Congolese-Dutch footballer Jody Lukoki passed away aged 29. He started his pro career at Ajax, eventually played years for Bulgarian Ludogorets and via Turkey made his way back to the Netherlands recently. There FC Twente fired him in February, most likely due to being convicted for domestic violence.
  10. For some shameless parading, the annual stuff in Moscow has gotten underway. Including a non-military defense minister riding around in military uniform with a hundred medals. Which once again makes it clear Russia gives out it's medals for free when buying a carton of milk or something, it's just like North Korea
  11. And then they work their way up to a fantastic final, former against now current world record holder...only to have that final be a huge anticlimax due to false starts Such a great event, with great races, ending in such a way...that was unfortunate.
  12. Went for a little cycle in the afternoon and from then on I was mostly behind on everything, but I've read up and so, congratulations to Spain and @Cobi Spain was my first reserve and made it back onto the list plenty of times, but ended up in that 13th place (ahead of Mexico and Brazil). I did like the song, so I'm happy with the winner
  13. Somehow I hadn't noticed this so much while following it, but thinking back I realize that, yeah, it was utterly flawless! Fantastic job by Hungary
  14. I hope you didn't bet your, I don't know, sleeping bag on that?
  15. Or not everyone focuses on winning, but on sending a song they like. Be that a 10 year or 10 day old song.
  16. Netherlands 1st Colombia Colombia 12 Denmark 11 Great Britain 10 Malta 9 United States 8 France 7 Lithuania 6 Italy 5 Moldova 4 Poland 3 Slovakia 2 Slovenia 1 Tot zover de Nederlandse stemmen, we wensen iedereen nog een hele mooie dag, met veel leuke muziek en natuurlijk gewoon een vermakelijke show! That's it for the Dutch votes. We wish everyone a lovely day, with a lot of fun music and of course just an enjoyable show!
  17. Netherlands 2nd Denmark Denmark 11 Great Britain 10 Malta 9 United States 8 France 7 Lithuania 6 Italy 5 Moldova 4 Poland 3 Slovakia 2 Slovenia 1
  18. We thought it'd be nice to give the number one fake-hockey nation a reward and something to celebrate at the bar, since it's still early afternoon there was a hope that the Slovak delegation was maybe still somewhat....awake, so to say
  19. Netherlands Goedemiddag mede-Totallympians! Wij willen onze Hongaarse vrienden graag bedanken voor weer een bijzonder leuke TISC-editie, en vervolgens gaan we over tot het bekendmaken van de Nederlandse stemmen! Good afternoon fellow Totallympians! We would like to thank our Hungarian friends for yet another wonderful edition of TISC, followed by the announcement of the Dutch votes! 3rd Great Britain 4th Malta 5th United States Great Britain 10 Malta 9 United States 8 France 7 Lithuania 6 Italy 5 Moldova 4 Poland 3 Slovakia 2 Slovenia 1
  20. Just for information, I'm here, give me a minute
  21. And now there's also an Easter Saturday. Huh, nearly ten years here and still learning almost on a daily basis
  22. We have the church bell every single hour, which rings as often as the time it is (so once at 1 am/pm, twelve times at 12 am/pm), but that's more part of living in my country's Bible Belt than remembering anything
  23. The bells ring at noon every single day? Huh, never heard of that before. Kind of reminds me of the daily ceremony at the Menenpoort in Ieper (Belgium), where every single day at 20.00h the Last Post is played to remember the victims of World War I.
