  1. just another monster-contract for a MLB player... the San Francisco Giants landed Carlos Correa with a brand new 13-year/350 million US $ deal and not mentioned before, the crazy spending NY Mets landed also the Japanes pitching star Kodai Senga. 5-year/75 million US $ for the player, with an opt-out clause for the team after 3 years (imho, this is a real steal...Senga should have been a much higher value). another Japanese star coming to play in North America is outfielder Masataka Yoshida, who got a 5-year/90 million US $ contract by the Boston Red Sox. Boston also signed veteran closer Kenley Jansen (2-year/32 million US $ deal for him).
  2. I don't think he has many chances to win gold...I guess Chalmers and Popovici will be close to the 45-sec dead mark, and also Grousset and Miressi can go below the 45.5 mark... in any case, it's gonna be an exciting final

  7. it doesn't need to be reviewed...in such cases, if there's a contat, it's always a penalty. the goalkeeper must avoid by any mean all kinds of contact, it's a specific rule (by the way, handball/basketball-alike blocks in football are not allowed, it's always defender's fault in those circumstances).

  19. as far as I remember, also Chile, Paraguay and Bolivia have always had only white and/or "native" people. I don't know if iot's true for the entire population, but in sports I just can't remember a single local born (naturalized Cubans don't count, hello Yasmani Acosta ) black player/athlete in their teams. but I might be wrong...tou know, I'm thousend miles away...

  22. my pick would be Lavreysen (men*) and the Short Track Relay team (teams). among the women is too close to call...I'd give it to all 3 because they are simply amazing in their respective discipline. *F1 is not (only) a men's affair, technology is too decisive, therefore I consider motorsports ineligible (moreover, I don't like Verstappen and even less the Red Bull team).
  23. this time not everything went well in Milan... Moroccans were way more aggressive in their party and one 30-year old man was stabbed in a brawl (he's in life danger).

  25. the usual parallel farce...those on the blue course have all the advantage (slope and track design) on the last 5 gates... it takes a miracle (or a big mistake by the opponent) to win on the red course
