  1. by the way, the clean sweep was completed at the end of the morning session right now the fourballs are well underway, with Europe taking an early lead 1 UP on 2 matches, while the USA are 1 UP in one match and the last is still tied (but we're still in the first 6 holes)
  2. I'm more into something like: week 1: team tournament as a full knockout stage (8 teams, QTFs, SFs and Finals over 6 days) with 5 players per team with 2 Foursomes, 2 Fourballs on day 1 and 5 singles on day 2 week 2: individual tournament with 2-day/36-hole stroke play, the top 16 make it through to the knockout stage with match play (day 3, round of 16 and QTF; day 4, SFs and Finals, always over 18 holes) the problem is that it would be very demanding on top players (who might dislike the idea) and it would require 2 different courses for women and men (with both genders playing basically at the same time (there might be a 1-day separation, but still) so, I guess we won't see anything like that in the near future, but it would be intriguing and entertaining for sure
  3. sloppy start for the US team, great start for the European team result: 3-0 Europe and the 4th pair 2 up with 3 holes to play...it would be the first clean sweep for Europe in a morning session, the 4th overall (last one, in 2018) a lot more people than expected on the course, a bright sunny day, the course perfectly setup (in a very tough and "homish" manner); despite all the idiots trying to cause problems (as it happens for any event organized in Italy), it's already a great success
  4. * it's the exact time of the last qualified swimmer to the 2023 world champs final basically it's the same thing that Italy has done for years (the only difference is that we normally use the last qualifying time to the semis, the final wouldn't make sense for us) they just want all the swimmers to show they're capable of clockings that would have a real chance to make the final
  5. ahaha! that's great! and the headbutts reminded me to the old Keirin races, where the only forbidden move was removing the hands from the handlebars and anything else was allowed imagine doing that face to face for 30/40 mins before sprinting for an Olympic medal p.s. also those who went on in the final lap, actually didn't do the surplace correctly, because there's also a rule that you can't go backwords by more than 20 cms and all of them broke that rule (in the old times in that case you were forced to start pedaling for at least 100m before you could try once again)
  6. it's been beautiful until it lasted I had the free trial option 2 weeks ago (before the women's OQTs started) but now it has disappeared most likely, it was only an early bird offer and now they're back to their usual policy of no free trial period sorry if I gave you any hope of watching some volleyball/beach volleyball for free, but I was deceived by Volleyballworld TV
  7. the great Italian sprinters of the Sixties were the absolute masters of that trick, the official record in competition is 1 hour and 3 mins (it happened at the Italian Nationals in 1968), the world record on the track but not in competition, as a standalone attempt, is 2 hours 6 mins 15 secs by a 2nd/3rd tier Italian rider in 1975 (there's a video on Youtube dedicated to that attempt) and since the tv stations started to complain about the waste of time, one day the UCI decided to cut the surplace max time to 15 mins, then 10 and finally they drastically came to the current 30 second-limit, which has made this tactic disappear from the tracks (and therefore the riders do not practice that anymore and just can't do it for such long time, as it gets very painful and puts the legs' muscles at risk when you suddenly start from scratch after a long stand in an uncomfortable position)
  8. do you mean "surplace" / "trackstand" attempts? today's riders are not allowed to do that for more than 30 seconds, therefore also the best in the world don't train that skill and aren't capable of staying sticky on the bike for minutes, hours like it used to be many years ago
  9. it would be nice (and a great story), but I fear it's not gonna happen
  10. if you're only interested in the OQTs (and not to the rest of their product through the year), you can also use just the 7-day trial twice on 2 different accounts (just need 2 different e-mails)

  14. despite dominated the medal table, we still missed out on the only thing that really mattered: the OQP in the men's Skeet and moreover, we didn't win a single Gold medal in any of the 5 Olympic events...we were always there, but we always missed that last cent to make it a full

  18. as the rules say, the 6th non discardable score in each period can be the Masters OR the Continental champs (the best between the 2 scores) if an athlete has a good score in both of them, the lower 1 might be included in the best 5 "basic" scores
  19. more about the Olympic course
