  1. damn, you just beat me by a few minutes
  2. well, Hannah Oeberg missed last week's stage because of a flu, obviously she can't be at 100% this week (and maybe she passed something also to her sister, who's struggling a bit on the skis in this early 2023). Olsbu even more, she missed half a season...she does need a lot more training on her skis to be as fast as she was in the past (but I'm sure she will be definitely better than now when it really matters, in Oberhof). Vittozzi has been clear on 20-hit races before...don't get fooled by her troubles in the last few seasons. she definitely benefited from the arrival of the new Finnish (shooting) coach in our team. hopefully she's getting back where she was before the pandemic mess and all that followed those difficult days. p.s. she's also taking advantage (like Wierer and the other Italian girls) by the good ski setup that Italy seem to have found this season, especially on the wet snow we have in this early 2023 (meanwhile Sweden look to have very bad skis on this kind of snow).
  3. cit. it took her exactly 4 years...but finally, she's back on top of the podium!
  4. fun fact, I just discovered that the same clocking (6h56m) could apply to 2 different "official" World Records...
  5. of course, Mikael Kingsbury (men) is a no brainer. meanwhile among the women it's not so easy...my pick, however, is Kari Traa.
  6. this time it looks OK... on the other hand, if he was good enough to be with them all of last season, it would be weird (to say the least) that this year he's not going to fill their requirements. by the way, the news of the day is that the Dodgers signed IF Miguel Rojas in a trade with the Miami Marlins (getting IF Jacob Amaya in exchange). that's the move we all expected! now the World Series are ours! nobody will stop us, not even mr. Roberts, firmly glued to the bench.
  7. French defense took over in the last 10 mins, but I think Poland played quite well and definitely they're not chanceless vs and . might be a different story, however.
  8. well, so far you're giving some real troubles... maybe you should be a bit more optimistic...
  9. I thought that it was impossible to make it worse than the last couple of Winter Games in terms of scheduling... but here we have an absolute sh*t personally, having Fencing and Swimming finals at the same time in the first week is a disaster, then we have to add Athletics in the weekend in the middle. finally, in the second week, we have Wrestling, Taekwondo, Weightlifting, Athletics medal sessions and most of the team sports playoffs matches running at the same time in the 7.30/11 p.m. slot. c'mon, man! p.s. and also the Athletics schedule is just...crazy... how can you run 4 times the 800m in 4 days always at their best? and pretend that the athletes don't give themselves some kind of chemical help just to try and face that challenge?
  10. once again, it looks that most Countries in the world will have to rely only on the watch.hockey website/app* to follow the event...and once again it looks that it's gonna be behind a pay-wall, which means that nobody would eventually watch a single minute of the World Cup (myself included). *app that's only available on mobile devices and not on smart TVs and/or connected devices. good job, well done! dear International Hockey Federation!

  14. no, it won't happen. the Braves don't want him to play the WBC because of last season's injury, they think he should focus on recovering, working with their physios rather than playing an official tournament missing some training sessions.
  15. well, until he has no bullets nor magazine inserted, he doesn't take any risk...

  18. tbh, I didn't see anything even close on the Italian TV networks... this is high class!
  19. Roberto Dinamite dies at the age of 68 https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/football/top-stories/brazilian-strike-ace-roberto-dinamite-dies-aged-68/articleshow/96837059.cms
  20. su Margaglio non avevo dubbi... spero che ameno Bagnis da qui al 2026 possa crescere bene sotto la nuova guida tecnica.
  21. yes, there are quite a few names that are already known, but not officially confirmed. Yesterday's announcement, however, was just the first block, more to come in the next days/weeks (deadline is on Feb. 7th).
  22. naaa...you clearly see that Margaglio hasn't improved by any mean...she's way faster than any other at the start, but she just can't drive. it's not a question of cold/warm, rainy/snowy/sunny, unfortunately. maybe Bagnis will have a chance in a fair condition race (but how many will we have from now on? climate change is not a theory), but the women, my dear Lord!
  23. first bunch of players for the Samurai Japan team made official: Shoei Ohtani (P/OF/DH, Anaheim Angels, MLB ) Yu Darvish (P, San Diego Padres, MLB ) Shosei Togo (P, Yomiuri Giants Tokyo, NPB ) Roki Sasaki (P, Chiba Lotte Marines, NPB ) Yoshinobu Yamamoto (P, Osaka ORIX Buffaloes, NPB ) Shota Imanaga (P, Yokohama DeNA Bay Stars, NPB ) Takuya Kai (C, Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, NPB ) Sosuke Genda (IF, Saitama Seibu Lions, NPB ) Shugo Maki (IF, Yokohama DeNA Bay Stars, NPB ) Munetaka Murakami (IF, Tokyo Yakult Swallows, NPB ) Kensuke Kondo (OF, Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, NPB ) Seiya Suzuki (OF, Chicago Cubs, MLB )
  24. meanwhile my hype is already gone... you can have the best coach, trainer and sled manufacturer in the world, but if the drivers are just a bunch of sheep, you don't go anywhere...
