I agree for Chung and Edmund, but Sandgren really has no business playing GS semifinals Still waiting for Zverev's GS breakthrough. It is getting frustrating for him now after all the success on the Tour and still without even GS QF. Also, Kyrgios was really unlucky witht the draw.

I am really not a fan of Halep. But I have to admit, she won over Kerber and her own demons. First - I was pleased to watch her playing offensive tennis. she played great third set and definitely was the better player today. Even then, Angie had match points. Saving MP in R3 and now SF should be huge confidence booster and I really hope she can finally win a slam. Woz also learned that to win a slam, you have be more offensive player. She's been playing more aggressively lately which brought her so many finals last year, YEC title and now another GS final. She had quite easy draw to be honest and in the final against Halep it may be also advantage, given the number of hours both spent on court. Difficult to predict the winner. Halep plays better, but this will be mental battle much more I am afraid. I'll cheer for Simona. I like her tennis more. On the men's side - Edmund seemed to be bothered with some injury. After Halep-Kerber match, this one was quite anticlimactic. Cilic must play much better in the final if he is to beat Federer. I would love to see Chung in the final, but let's be realistic

In order to earn points from the start, you should post your predictions before the start of the first Event of Alpine Skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games - February 11th, h. 11:00 (GMT +9). I hate having Suarez Navarro in a GS QF despite her lovely game. Every her GS QF result was a clear beatdown RG 2008 6-3 6-2 AO 2009 6-2 6-2 US 2013 6-0 6-0 RG 2014 7-6 2-6 7-5 okay, this one is exception AO 2016 6-1 6-3

I watched and game-wise he is almost there. Even mentally he doesn't look to scared. In the tiebreak today he missed clear forehand winner after longer rally to give Nadal set point. I thought that would break him, and was already seeing Nadal making advantage in the 4th set. Of course, Nadal was injured, but Marin managed to stay as calm as possible.
-
And most likely not in the final as well. Unless Marin goes into USO2014 mode
-
I want that Edmund-Chung final But Federer is going to win it now, with the draw of ATP 250 And they were making fun of WTA!. Mertens Make that final please! I wish one of Kerber-Keys wins the title in women's draw. Both showed the best tennis so far.

Concerning rankings - for me the fun part is to count the medals won. Points are just for those who love statistics more. @Henry_Leon no worries, miscellaneous contest won't be that big. Around 20-25 events would be enough, -
I can't believe how Fett lost it I just hope it's not Wozniacki's Kerber 2016 run This bottom half of women's draw is really weak. Both top contenders have been playing poorly. Svitolina's quarter is even weaker now. Hopefully Svitolina and Kostyuk can get evening session, curious to see how young Marta will perform when not affected by the heat. Kumkhum can be dangerous in that pert of the draw as well as Martić... And for Woz, one of the Baltic girls, Ostapenko/Kontaveit/Kanepi. In the meantime Grisha... Mackie is pretty solid though

Wanderer replied to Wanderer's topic in Totallympics Prediction Contests
Concerning general standings for 2018, I had an idea that the points should be awarded according to the number of participants. For example: if contest has 40 participants, 40th place is to be awarded 1 point, 39th place 2 points and so on until we get to the half of the total number of participants. Then, 19th place should have 2 points more than the 20th... with difference between 10th and 1st gradually increasing and with 1st ranked getting 80 points (for each contest, max points = 2*number of participants). With this way, we award the winners at the big contests. It is harder to win when there are 50 people competing than 20. What do you think? -
RIP Dolores

More or less expected results. Especially in the women's draw. To be honest, I was wondering how much Kostyuk had left in tank, but she delivered! Bellis was kind of disappointment but again, Kiki revenged unexpected loss at the French Open Sock losing was surprising (and Vandeweghe among women's seeds). Anderson too., But we all know that current ranks in both ATP/WTA do not represent real measure of talent and skill.
