  1. I only reacted as sad because I wanted your post to have every reaction possible.
  2. Seduction. Addiction. HEROINE.
  3. Lord, help us.
  4. It means gold in Japanese, so I was slightly worried about someone playing football or handball with a huge metal ball that could potentially cause a concussion should it hit anyone's head.
  5. This is all of us right now.
  6. I didn't even know about this. It's especially bad for Brazil because the government takes this competition very seriously, given that most of our top level athletes in minor sports are members of the military.
  7. Overall, I'm massively disappointed with this competition. I expected quite a lot, but the level was very questionable in some events. In artistic gymnastics there were some important names, but the Chinese gymnasts were massively overscored from what I could see. The problem is that almost all of the judges were from China, so the scores were very biased towards home gymnasts. I am aware that this was a demonstration sport, but I hope it will not be officially added to the program in subsequent editions of the Military Games, unless there's commitment to scoring fairly the gymnasts in the future. Tennis was a demonstration sport too and it also suffered with a very small field. Poland even got a medal because one of the teams did not show up for the match. Diving was a joke. Brazil got three medals, but I feel ashamed for these medals. Two medals came from team events. In these events, the eight highest scores from previous events were counted, but Brazil only got medals because the teams behind Brazil counted seven scores or less (I mean, they did not even bother to start in eight events), while Brazil counted eight. The other medal was a bronze medal, but there were just three pairs competing. This also happened in Archery, where France won gold, silver and bronze in women's para archery because no other country bothered to compete. Still, it's nice to have para events in this competition, so I will not even complain about this one.
  8. I'm not so optimistic about this tournament. And we all know Diaz from Puerto Rico is a huge favorite for the individual woman's title.
  9. I absolutely hate lyrics with violence or crazy things like "I would die for you", so Italy, Uruguay and France are out of contention right off the bat. 1) 2) 3) Honorable mentions:
  10. Isn't it, though? It seems to me that the IOC cannot make up their minds about what they want for the Paralympic Games. It looks like the IOC thinks about itself as a generous organization for "lending" the venues to the IPC after the Olympic Games. It would have been better if the Paralympic Games were staged before the Olympics, so they could attract supporters who were highly anticipating the Olympics. In my mind, though, I think it would be better to have a drastically smaller number of Para events integrated with the Olympic Games, and get rid altogether of the Paralympic Games. The Games segregate able-bodied and disabled athletes, while an integrated Olympic Games would promote sports even more. Besides, let Macau and Faroe Islands compete at the Olympics.
  11. I love Paris' logo. This is pure genius. Tokyo's is one of the worst I've seen in my life. The original stolen logo was even worse.
  12. Please, do it! There are many events I would enjoy watching. Also, I can't find anything in artistic gymnastics, and I would appreciate any video.
  13. First ever gold medal for Brazil, and quite the news here since Maicon wrote on Instagram that he is proud to be black and the racist Bulgarians had to deal with his gold medal.
  14. One of the Brazilians who played against Nepal said he enjoyed the opening ceremony even though he had to play the match the next day. There seems no be no serious preparation for the matches and I guess no one takes this beach volleyball tournament seriously. I'm not complaining, though. I'm here for the artistic gymnastics event, and even though there are very few gymnasts, a considerable number of them are medalists at the World Championships and the Olympic Games, so it should be nice to watch (if there's streaming video available. that is).
  15. This is the picture the official website shows: This setting is easily something I would expect from a gay porn movie.
  16. It's the first time I heard about beach wrestling. As a fan of rhythmic gymnastics, I find it extremely ironic that half naked muscular hairy men rolling on the sand is a macho sport, while lean flexible thin girls take part in what is perceived as a gay sport.
  17. 2016 Olympian, gymnast Tutya Yilmaz from Turkey has announced her retirement. Probably the most anxious and nervous gymnast I've seen competing in my life, but she had lots of potential. Unfortunately, she fell 99% of the time. She hit her balance beam routine at the 2016 Olympics, though, and deserved a spot in the final, but fell short. Still, it was beautiful and probably the best routine in her entire career.
  18. Does this include gymnastics? Even women's gymnastics? All of the girls from the bronze medal winning team at the 2019 Worlds are 16 years old, so they would not be allowed to join the military. But what about older gymnasts like Vanessa Ferrari? Also, @heywoodu might help me here: wasn't Yuri van Gelder part of the military? What about the status of other Dutch gymnasts right now?
  19. In Brazil, the army pays a hefty sum of money for top level gymnasts. They train in their clubs, but are officially military athletes. I know that some gymnasts in Russia and Ukraine are also part of the military. I'm surprised neither country will send gymnasts to these Games.
  20. I usually ignore this event, but artistic gymnastics will be held for the first time, so I'm slightly interested. Only men's events will be contested and a measly six countries will compete: and . Not super exciting, but some big names will compete, so it should be nice to watch.
  21. It's always nice to help with these. And, as always, middle of the pack for me. I'm terrible at predicting results.
  22. Women's gymnastics is at one of the lowest points in history when it comes to judging. The US, Russia and China are always massively overscored, with the occasional country (Canada, Belgium and now Italy) getting fair results here and there (though Belgium has received scores much higher than their gymnasts deserved this year).
  23. After Flávia was robbed of a medal, Nory is world champion. Nice.
  24. Ouch. That has got to be a zero for . EDIT: Not a zero. Meh podium. I'm sick of Radivilov getting medals with sloppy vaults.
