  1. I can't believe we'll not qualify a men's team either. This is a nightmare.
  2. I completely forgot about Zahran on rings. Only three countries can qualify in a single apparatus, so we will probably have finalists on rings not qualifying for the Olympics.
  3. Yes, but it will be hard, I think. Still, there's a chance for him, yes.
  4. Yes. They can perform in all events.
  5. Olympic hopefuls after subdivision 3/8:Team: Apparatus: Artem Dolgopyat (Floor) Rhys McClenaghan (Pommel horse) Ibrahim Çolak (Still rings) Samir Ait Said (Still rings) Eleftherios Petrounias (Still rings) There's a chance for with Marco Lodadio on rings too if Italy fails to qualify a team, but he's currently fourth and could miss the final. All-around: Manrique Larduet Ludovico Edalli Milad Karimi Loris Frasca Alexander Shatilov Ferhat Arican Ivan Tikhonov Andrey Likhovitskiy Sofus Heggemsnes David Jessen Tomas Gonzalez Lee Thanh Tung (currently also second on vault, so he could qualify through the apparatus final if he fails to qualify through the all-around) Vinzenz Hoeck Andres Martinez Nikolaos Iliopoulos Ryan Sheppard Scores in the all-around are a lot higher than I predicted, so there's a chance even 78 will not be enough. It might go as high as 80. Insane.
  6. Nope. As far as I could understand, only three gymnasts can qualify if a nation does not qualify a team. For a team to take part, they need to start with 4 gymnasts. I would say it's unlikely for Canada to repeat this score. Judging here is very strict on the still rings and parallel bars. I believe we should consider deducting 2 or 3 points from was achieved at the Pan Ams for an equivalent score here, based on the judging.
  7. Yes. Not even huge scores on pommel could save them now. They need 43.802 to outscore Italy, and this means 14.600 per routine. Impossible. But this opens up a very interesting scenario: if Onder finishes ahead of Arican in the all-around and Çolak qualifies for the event final on rings, three Turkish could qualify for the Olympics (Onder in the all-around, Arican in parallel bars and Çolak in rings).
  8. Funny thing is that one Nigerian (Uche Eke) is the reigning champion on the pommel horse at the African Games. I don't know why he did not compete here.
  9. Floor is where I suspected Turkey was going to lose it, but they managed to score over 40. Their insane parallel bars rotation (43.2) provides a very comfortable cushion for them even if they don't do very well on pommels. Either way, they are on the track to qualify a full team for the first time ever (and maybe even make it to the event finals).
  10. This is the condition. If a gymnast doesn't make the final, no chance to qualify in this apparatus. If gymnasts from more than 3 nations that did not qualify a team manage to reach the final in a single apparatus, we will have to wait until event finals to see who will finish in the top 3 (among nations without a qualified team). This is very unlikely to happen, but there's a slight possibility in men's vault. If a nation fails to qualify a team, but is able to qualify one gymnast for the Olympics through the all-around ranking and more than 2 other gymnasts for the event finals, there is a specific rule stating that only three will be able to qualify. Once again, extremely unlikely to happen, and I only see a very small possibility of this happening with Turkey.
  11. Spain, Turkey and Belarus are up in the air. They have potential. I don't know much about these teams.
  12. I will play safe and only consider specific conditions for hopes of Olympic qualification so far: a team score over 248 points, an individual score of over 15 in any apparatus and a total all-around score of over 78. So, let's check who are the Olympic hopefuls so far Team: Apparatus: Artem Dolgopyat (Floor) Rhys McClenaghan (Pommel horse) All-around:
  13. Wow. I would never expect that! France scored quite decently. We have a lot of strong teams still to come: and can score more than 246 points. scored 250. and could potentially kick and out of the Olympics. Not so confident about Netherlands, but South Korea and Germany have a real chance of scoring over 246, and this could mean France might be out as a team.
  14. Well, France is not doing well, and if they keep this level of performance, Italy might have a chance of qualifying a full team. And the best Polish gymnast scored over 75, what could be enough for one of the last spots if he's extremely lucky. Poland could qualify, after all. Let's see.

  16. I thought the excellent results Chinese Taipei had achieved in past competitions this year were terrible overscores and totally exaggerated, but I was completely wrong. Look at what they did here! Not only they will qualify a full team for the Olympics, but they will also probably reach team final! Italy will probably not qualify a full team. I had high hopes for them, but it will be hard. Lodadio will also have a hard time reaching the rings final, so probably only one Italian will qualify for 2020. Bummer. Rhys McClenagham hit his routine! Ahaaa! This is surely enough for a medal, and Adam Steele also scored very decently and has a huge chance of qualifying through the all-around. After a major disappointment yesterday, two Irish gymnasts qualifying today is not bad at all! Anyone who scores over 78 points should qualify.
  17. Lukasz Borkowski is the only one with a chance of qualifying. At the Polish Championships he scored 81.034, which would easily qualify him for Tokyo. But National Championships usually hand out unrealistic scores, so I searched for his score in an international competition. Bad news: at the European Games he scored 71.297. Anything under 78 means no chance of qualifying, in my opinion, especially because we probably will have 6-12 athletes who will qualify through the event finals (while in the women's competition only 1 qualified through the event finals). At the very worst, 75-76 should be the threshold for Olympic qualification, unless the judges are very strict.
  18. Sorry, I counted 32 gymnasts. For a moment I thought there was a mistake, but it seems like it was right. i apologize for the confusion.
  19. I counted the girls again and for a moment I thought Ireland had qualified, but I really counted 32 gymnasts. Bummer. There's still a huge chance someone will qualify through other means (world cup series, continental championships), so I believe there's hope for Ireland.
  20. Olympic qualifiers: Team (4 quotas): Individual qualifiers through the event finals: Yeo Seo-jeong Individual qualifiers through the all-around: Flávia Saraiva Giulia Steingruber Georgia Godwin Diana Varinska Lee Yun-seo Zsofia Kovacs Martina Dominici Alexa Moreno Danusia Francis Kim Su Jong Aneta Holasova Marcia Vidiaux Maria Holbura Elisa Haemmerle Anastasiya Alistratava Farah Abdul Nancy Mohamed Nazli Savranbasi Barbora Mokosova Filipa Martins Ana Derek Caitlin Rooskrantz Jonna Adlerteg Gabriela Janik Simona Castro Lihie Raz Julie Erichsen Ariana Orrego Oksana Chusovitina Ting Hua-Tien Marina Nekrasova Qualified through host nation quota reallocation: Tan Sze En Gymnasts not qualified, but who would be next in line if other gymnasts qualify through continental championships or miss out due to injury: Megan Ryan Maria Kharenkova Argyro Afrati Maia Fishwick Adela Sajn
  21. I will try to list the Olympic qualifiers, but of course I am extremely sad and I apologize in advance if I commit any mistakes.
  22. At least we got Flávia in the beam final. Now I would not risk Flavia on floor so Fidelis can qualify through the all-around.
  23. Absolutely no chance for Brazil. I'm happy to see Spain with a team at the Olympics again, though. And there's one extra quota for individual gymnasts, which is also nice.
  24. Jade Barbosa is injured. We'll not qualify a team now. Oh, well... I kind of expected this to happen, but it's still painful to watch.
