  1. It's coming thick and fast now. Japan - Team Dressage Shingo Hayashi (Scolari) Hiroyuki Kitahara (Huracan) Kazuki Sado (Ludwig der Sonnenkoenig) Reserve: Masanao Takahashi (Rubicon) So... Both Ludwig der Sonnenkoenig and Chateau de Versailles are going to Tokyo.
  2. As expected, the British eventing selection-observation event in Bicton is quickly turning into a total bloodbath. Athletes must be losing their minds, as something as simple as having one rail down in show jumping can make all the difference between staying at home and going to the Olympics. Specifically, Piggy March and Laura Collett had an unexpected error. Are they out now?? Who can tell. https://www.eventingscores.co.uk/Events/event.php?eventid=1183#C
  3. Chinese state propaganda will have a field day...
  4. Watching live competition from Osijek World Cup at the national television is a sad, sob story... And always the same thing. The commentators are cheering for every mistake of the home athletes' opponents. It's like they got their commentating degree in Pyongyang.
  5. I can't believe Ed Holloway became the host canoe slalom commentator! He is normally an equestrian commentator. And also a doctor. Only his doctor's license got famously removed once it was discovered he was inventing sick leave to comment equestrian events. You know, priorities. https://www.horseandhound.co.uk/news/commentator-struck-medical-register-461556
  6. After the free routine (prelim)... ------- - everyone else scored below 80 pts
  7. This is synchronized swimming. France qualified before the competition even started.
  8. Terrible score for the Swiss. They are even lower then Colombia. Looks like the flip will happen here after all. Liechtenstein holds almost 2 points lead above Switzerland.
  9. It's still an obvious result fix which will result in a deserving athlete missing out. He only threw further than 74 m outside of KAZ/UZB once, at the 2018 Asian Games (74.06). In 2015, he magically threw 78 m in July (KAZ), but then at the World Championships merely weeks later he was suddenly at 71 m. Ugh.
  10. No live results... Only live stream.
  11. Liechtenstein scored sub-84 now. Considerably lower than their mid-84 scores from the Europeans. Still they have around a point of an advantage over Germany... But it will be very hard.
  12. Portugal - Team Dressage Maria Caetano (Fenix de Tineo) Joao Miguel Torrao (Equador) Rodrigo Torres (Fogoso) Reserves: Carlos Pinto (Sultao Menezes), Vasco Mira Godinho (Garrett) Everyone is riding the national breed - Lusitano horse.
  13. Not sure if Turkey or Saudi Arabia....
  14. Huh. That would make it impossible to hold equestrian within 20 minutes.
  15. Nice own goal / back somersault.
  16. I think no more than 1-2 Tripartite spots will be allocated. The rest will go back to the rankings.
  17. Apparently there will be heats of 12 athletes each, and then the final with 12 as well. Each heat taking 90 mins.
  18. Austria - Team Dressage Florian Bacher (Fidertraum) Victoria Max-Theurer (Abegglen) Christian Schumach (Te Quiero) Reserves: Astrid Neumayer (Zap Zap), Belinda Weinbauer (Fustanella) Bacher and Schumach have enjoyed a great season so far. Very pleased for them.
  19. Funny how kata is supposed to be about judging human movements, and yet the athletes' bodies are hidden under extremely baggy uniforms...
  20. Ah there it is. The magic Almaty competition.
  21. Exactly! After reading about it the other day, I searched for a video and was stunned. So much different than a run-of-the-mill artistic swimming routine.
  22. Still no precedent in this sport. It is simply impossible to gain more than one position during a single competition. And even that is extremely rare. I can only conclude that, aside from the iffy judging of course, there are also simply no risks involved. Everyone performs within their comfort zone and stays mistake-free.
